Palestinians shoot and wound IDF soldier in Shechem

Palestinian terrorists fired at IDF soldiers and moderately wounded one of them in Shechem (Nablus) Wednesday night as they were guarding Israelis who came to pray at Joseph’s tomb.

A group of IDF soldiers was securing hundreds of Israelis who came to pray at Joseph’s Tomb inside the city when they were shot at.

The victim was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

The Israeli forces encountered other incidents of Palestinian violence, including rock throwing and firebomb attacks. They responded with crowd dispersal ordinance.

The IDF has launched an investigation into the incident.

Earlier in the evening, an IDF unit operating near the border with Gaza was shot at by a Palestinian sniper. No one was wounded in this attack, but a vehicle was damaged.

In related news, IDF forces arrested six Hamas terrorists in counter-terrorism operations throughout Judea and Samaria.

These incidents were the latest in a long series of Palestinian terror attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of almost a year, claiming the lives of 39 victims and wounding over 500.
