Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi expressed hope and optimism in President Donald Trump’s ability to bring peace in the Middle East, while speaking to Egyptian media outlets on Wednesday.“I believe in him and his abilities to resolve conflict,” al-Sissi said.“Trump is a great man who is not satisfied with anything but success, and we have confidence in his abilities and his promises.”The Egyptian president made his remarks in response to a question asking him if he believed that there was “hope for a solution to the Palestinian issue under Trump.” Al-Sissi answered unequivocally in the affirmative saying, “if (the opportunity) would be taken, we could reach a solution and the conflict will become history.”Sissi implied that it was Israel who needed to make the jump.“The Arabs and Palestinians are ready for peace,” he continued. “You (Israel) have an opportunity to reach peace. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be welcoming Islamic leaders from around the world and US President Donald Trump, who will be on his first visit abroad as president.
