Former Miss California appointed by President Trump to Religious Liberty Commission booted after she used hearing on antisemitism to defend far-right podcasters from charges of antisemitism and to blame Jews for the killing of Jesus, before going on rant against “Zionist supremacy.”

A former model appointed by President Donald Trump last year to the newly formed Religious Liberty Commission has been removed after she was accused of antisemitism.

On Monday, the RLC held a hearing focusing on antisemitism and religious freedom in the private sector.

During the mostly cordial hearing, commission member Carrie Prejean Boller grilled Babylon Bee owner and conservative activist Seth Dillon on the definition of antisemitism, taking aim at criticism of Owens and Carlson, both of whom she defended from accusations of antisemitism.

“I would really appreciate it if you would stop calling Candace Owens an antisemite,” Prejean Boller told Dillon.

“She’s not an antisemite. She just doesn’t support Zionism, and that really has to stop. I don’t know why you keep bringing her up, and Tucker.”

Prejean Boller later asked whether it would be considered antisemitic to claim that Jews killed Jesus.

Throughout the hearing, the 2009 Miss California-turned conservative Christian activist wore a pin on her lapel with the US flag alongside the Palestine Liberation Organization flag.

After the hearing, Prejean Boller fired back at critics on her X account while denouncing what she described as “Zionist supremacy.”

“I will continue to stand against Zionist supremacy in America. I’m a proud Catholic. I, in no way will be forced to embrace Zionism as a fulfillment of biblical prophesy [sic]. I am a free American. Not a slave to a foreign nation.”

On Wednesday, the chairman of the RLC, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, announced that Prejean Boller had been removed from the commission, while accusing her of hijacking the RLC hearing.

“No member of the Commission has the right to hijack a hearing for their own personal and political agenda on any issue,” Patrick posted on X. “This is clearly, without question, what happened Monday in our hearing on antisemitism in America. This was my decision.”

Prejean Boller fired back that Patrick lacked the authority to remove her from the commission, and accused him of working on behalf of a “Zionist political framework.”

“You did not appoint me to the Commission, and you lack authority to remove me from it. This is a gross overstepping of your role and leads me to believe you are acting in alignment with a Zionist political framework that hijacked the hearing, rather than in defense of religious liberty.”

“You are speaking without authority, and it is clear your actions reflect a Zionist political agenda, not the President’s, not the U.S. Constitution’s, and not the purpose of this Commission.”

Texas Senator Ted Cruz rejected Prejean Boller’s claim that her removal from the commission was undertaken without proper authority.

“Let’s be clear: it was President Trump who fired her,” Cruz wrote on X.
