A deadly terror attack in northern Israel on Friday claimed the life of Shimshon Mordechai, leaving his family grieving the loss of a husband, father, and grandfather.

In a statement released Saturday night, the Mordechai family said they are in deep mourning and great pain following the murder of their father. At this stage, they asked to refrain from media interviews and requested that their privacy be respected.

“Our father, Shimshon, was first and foremost our dad and a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren,” the family said. “He was married to our mother, Sara, for 42 years of partnership, love, and great joy, and together they built a family to be proud of.”

They described him as a man of values and faith, devoted to both his family and his beliefs. “He was a true family man in every sense, someone who always made sure we lacked nothing,” the statement said. “A religious, observant man, he lived a life of giving, faith, and love of others.”

The family said the loss has been overwhelming. “A hard and painful blow has fallen upon us,” they added. “We ask that the family’s grief and pain be honored during this difficult time.”
