Terrorist from Hamas’ elite Nukhba Force infiltrated into Israel in 2014 in attack on IDF pillbox that left five soldiers dead and one wounded.

A terrorist from an elite Hamas unit which took part in the October 7th, 2023 invasion of Israel was killed recently in an IDF airstrike in the Gaza Strip, Israel claimed this week.
In a joint statement released Wednesday morning, the IDF and the Shin Bet internal security agency announced that several days ago Mahmoud Ibrahim Hassan Abu Hasira, a terrorist in the Hamas Gaza Brigade, was killed in an IDF airstrike in Gaza City.
In recent years, Abu Hasira served as the personal military aide and right-hand man to senior Hamas figure Izz al-Din Haddad, the commander of the Hamas Gaza Brigade.
A member of the Nukhba Force – Hamas’ elite terrorist unit which spearheaded the October 7th, 2023 invasion – Abu Hasira has been involved in terror attacks on Israel for over a decade.
Abu Hasira served in this role throughout the current war and during the preparations for the October 7th, 2023 invasion, the IDF and Shin Bet said.
In addition, the IDF and Shin Bet noted that Abu Hasira took part in a 2014 infiltration into Israel which culminated in an attack on an Israeli army pillbox inside of Israel, killing five IDF soldiers and wounding a sixth.
The attack was carried out on July 28th, 2014, during Operation Protective Edge against Hamas terrorists in Gaza, after three Israeli youths were abducted and murdered by the terror group south of Jerusalem.
During the July 2014 attack, Nukhba Force terrorists infiltrated from Gaza into Israel, entering the Nahal Oz area via a tunnel and murdering five IDF soldiers, including Sergeant Daniel Kedmi, Sergeant Barkai Yishai Shor, Sergeant Erez Shagai, Sergeant Dor Drori, and Sergeant Nadav Raymond.
