The New York Post is calling them “the Hitlers next door.”

It turns out that three of Hitler’s great-nephews Alexander, Louis and Brian who use the last name Stuart-Houston, have been living the American dream in Long Island, New York for decades. They are the only living descendants of the dictator’s paternal side, according to a recent story in Germany’s Bild newspaper, which went looking for them.

They are the sons of William Patrick Hitler, or “Willy,” Hitler’s nephew, the son of Hitler’s half-brother, Alois Hitler Jr. To Willy’s credit, Adolph Hitler described him as “‘eines seiner widerlichsten Verwandten’ — one of his most repulsive relatives…,” according to a New Yorker report.

Willy, who was London born, worked as a waiter in Dublin and later made his way to New York, where he lectured about his monstrous half-brother. He fought in World War II in the U.S. Navy.

Although Willy’s three sons have maintained radio silence in regards to the media, Alexander for the first time opened up when the Bild newspaper came knocking recently, offering his opinion on German and American politics.

According to the report, a neighbor of Alexander’s brothers, Brian and Louis, told the Bild they’re “excellent people.”

“You can’t be blamed for your relatives,” she said.
