IAF bombs Hamas targets in response to rocket attack

Israel has vowed to respond to any and all attacks emanating from Gaza.

Israel Air Force (IAF) aircraft attacked Hamas terror targets in the Gaza Strip on Monday in response to a rocket fired by Palestinian terrorists at Israel’s civilian population earlier in the day.

The rocket, fired by an unknown faction, exploded in an open space inside the Gaza Strip, causing no casualties and some minor damage.

However, it did set off sirens in Israel, sending thousands of civilians running for cover during the holiday.

Palestinian sources reported that shortly after the rocket attack, IDF tanks fired at Hamas targets near the border.

The IDF views the Hamas terror organization as bearing sole responsibility for all incidents emanating from the Gaza Strip, and therefore attacked its infrastructure.

There have been several sporadic rocket and mortar attacks against civilian targets and against IDF forces operating on the border. There were no injuries in any of those incidents.

Since Operation Protective Edge in the summer of 2014, there have been multiple rockets attacks from Gaza and over 40 rockets have exploded in Israeli territory.
