IDF forces on Wednesday captured two Palestinians who scaled the Gaza border fence and attempted to infiltrate into Israel.  According to the army, soldiers spotted  two suspects attempting to breach the security fence and infiltrate Israel from the Northern Gaza Strip.

In response, the troops fired opened towards the suspects, wounding one of them.  The wounded infiltrator was taken for medical treatment, while the second one was arrested and is being held for questioning.  The army says that one of the infiltrators was carrying a knife.

IDF forces on the border with Gaza are on high alert in anticipation of a revenge attack by the Islamic Jihad.

Palestinian infiltrators  from Gaza are fairly common. In most cases, the Palestinians are seeking work in Israel or looking to escape the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, with some infiltrators claiming that serving time in an Israeli prison is easier than living in Gaza.
