IDF arrests senior Hamas leader for incitement to terrorism

The IDF arrested dozens of Palestinian terror suspects, including Hassan Yousef, a senior Hamas leader.

IDF forces on Wednesday arrested Hassan Yousef, a senior Hamas leader, in the village of Beitunia, near Ramallah. The Israeli forces did not encounter resistance.

Yousef, 62, one of the founding members of the terror organization, was arrested for incitement to terrorism.  Earlier this week, he called for a violent response to President Donald Trump’s historic recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Yousef was recently released from administrative detention. A main instigator of violence against Israel among the Palestinians, he has been in and out of the Israeli prison system for decades.

Yousef’s son, Mosab Yousef, code-named the “Green Prince,” was an Israeli asset working for the Shin Bet within the terror organization for a decade, helping to sabotage dozens of terrorist attacks. He subsequently fled to the US, where he advocates against Islamic extremism, violence and terror.

In related news, IDF forces carried out counter-terrorism operations throughout Judea and Samaria overnight Tuesday and arrested 32 Palestinians for connections to terror.
