IDF shuts down Palestinian radio station for incitement

In an effort to combat Palestinian terrorism, Israeli authorities are focusing on sources of incitement, including the Palestinian leadership as well as the Palestinian media.

IDF forces, working with Israel’s police and the Shin Bet (Israel’s security Agency), on Tuesday night shut down the Palestinian Alsnabal radio station after it repeatedly broadcast incitement against Israel.

An IDF spokesman said the forces arrested five station employees and confiscated equipment while operating in Dura, in the Hebron area.

Alsnabal routinely broadcast calls to attack Israel, congratulated terrorists after committing attacks and encouraged violent action against Israeli forces.

In the past months, Israel has been operating to shut down Palestinian media outlets and publications which incited against Israel and Israelis and called for terrorist attacks.

Israel maintains that one of the driving forces behind the almost year-long wave of terrorist attacks is incitement by the Palestinian leadership and clergy through its state and local media.
