Ilhan Omar funneled cash to Palestinian ‘terror university’ – report

The Palestine House of Freedom, backed by Omar’s donation, raised funds for a university whose students “overwhelmingly support Hamas.”

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) reportedly funneled campaign funds to a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit, which recently raised money for a Palestinian university widely known as a hub for terror propaganda.

According to Federal Election Commission filings seen by Fox News Digital, Omar’s campaign donated at least $1,000 to the Palestine House of Freedom, an American entity that has collected funds on behalf of Birzeit University — a Palestinian Authority-controlled institution north of Ramallah.

Also known by its Arabic name Dar Al-Huriyya, the group’s website promotes the destruction of Israel, declaring its vision of a Palestinian state “from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.”

Individuals listed as members on the organization’s website include Bassem Tamimi, who has repeatedly clashed violently with IDF troops. Tamimi is the father of Ahed Tamimi, who gained international attention after a video of her slapping an Israeli soldier went viral.

Another member of the organization is former Knesset member Haneen Zoabi. She is currently being investigated for incitement to terror, due to her remarks justifying the Hamas-led October 7 massacres.

Dar Al-Huriyya recently hosted a fundraiser for Birzeit University. The school’s student council is currently led by students who are openly affiliated with the Hamas terror group.

In December 2021, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reported that Birzeit students held a military-style parade, featuring participants dressed as terrorists carrying prop rockets and explosive suicide belts.

The following day, MEMRI noted that Hamas-supporting students staged another event “saluting the body parts scattered in Israeli cities” during the Second Intifada.

Students also chanted praise for Yahya Ayyash, a founder of Hamas’ military wing.

The promotion of terrorist propaganda at Birzeit University has become so blatant that Harvard University severed its partnership with the school earlier this year.

The decision followed a letter from Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI), who said Birzeit “explicitly endorses a U.S.-designated terrorist organization” and that its student body “overwhelmingly supports Hamas.”
