ISIS claims Israel attacked the Islamic terror group in Sinai

ISIS says Israel has been attacking them in the Sinai, while an important Hamas figure coordinating with ISIS died in recent days.

The Islamic State’s (ISIS) affiliate in the Sinai Peninsula said on Tuesday that Israel’s Air Force (IAF) has been attacking its targets over the past few days.

ISIS’ Amaq news agency reported that there have been three Israeli air strikes over the course of the past three days, south of El-Arish and Sheikh Zuweid.

A local Egyptian news outlet reported about a strike carried out by an Israeli drone, which killed one ISIS terrorist. The report stated that flyovers by Israeli drones are common, indicating close collaboration between Israel and Egypt in the war on Islamic terrorists.

Egypt has been waging a bloody war against ISIS insurgents in the Sinai.

Egypt’s army has been conducting an extensive campaign to destroy smuggling tunnels running between Sinai and Gaza as part of a broader military campaign in the northern Sinai against anti-regime Islamic terrorists who, together with Hamas, have carried out several deadly attacks against Egyptian security forces.

Abed Alila Kishta, the coordinator between ISIS and Hamas in Gaza, was reportedly killed in recent days. It is unclear, however, how Kishta, a member of Hamas’ armed forces, died.

Hamas and ISIS reportedly train together. Hamas funds ISIS’ activities and provides medical aid to its terrorists, while ISIS gives arms to Hamas.

Earlier on Tuesday, a rocket fired in the Sinai that landed in Egyptian territory triggered a siren alert in several Israeli communities in southern Israel.
