Israeli forces seal off home of Palestinian terrorist who murdered Israeli policeman

Fighting its relentless war on Palestinian terrorism, IDF forces sealed off the home of a terrorist who murdered an Israeli border policeman.

Israeli forces on Monday night sealed the home of a Palestinian terrorist who murdered a border policeman in a November vehicular attack.

The IDF said in a statement that, acting in accordance with directives by Minister of Defense Moshe Ya’alon, it sealed the home of Ibrahim Skafy, in the Palestinian village of Halhul near Hebron.

Skafy ran his vehicle into Border Police officer Binyamin Ya’akobovitz, 19, on November 4 at the Halhul junction, which Ya’akobovitz was securing. Skafy was shot dead by Israeli forces. Ya’akobovitz died shortly after from his wounds.

The terrorist’s family petitioned the Israeli High Court against the building’s demolition because the terrorist lived on the third floor of a residential building where other families lived, and the court ordered it sealed with foam and not razed.

The family also claimed that the incident was an accident and not a terrorist attack, but Judge Yitzhak Amit ruled that footage of the attack, in which the vehicle driven by the terrorist is seen veering off the road and accelerating towards the officers standing on the roadside, is clear evidence that their claim is baseless.

The houses of 12 Palestinian terrorists have been demolished since the start of the wave of Palestinian violence in September, and several other are currently in deliberation n court.

The demolition of terrorists’ homes is meant to serve as deterrence for potential terrorists who are plotting future attacks and is part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plans to contend with the recent wave of Palestinian terror attacks, which has claimed the lives of 32 victims in the past six months.
