Jews are in the most danger since Holocaust: Trump

“Instead of aggressively confronting these venomous antisemites in her party, Kamala Harris has maneuvered for their support,” Trump said.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump told a crowd at a campaign rally that Jewish Americans are facing the most perilous times for their personal security since World War II.

Speaking at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Pennsylvania, Trump said that Democratic nominee Kamala Harris did not pick the state’s governor, Josh Shapiro, as her running mate “because he’s Jewish.”

Trump added that there were other reasons for the decision, but the “primary reason is because he’s Jewish.”

The former president said that “any Jewish person that votes for [Harris] or a Democrat has to go out and have their head examined,” echoing comments he made last week while speaking with Elon Musk.

“What’s happening with Israel and Jewish people, there has never been a more dangerous time since the Holocaust if you happen to be Jewish in America,” Trump said.

On Thursday, Trump made similar remarks when speaking at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

“What’s going on now is exactly what was going on before the Holocaust,” he said. “Instead of aggressively confronting these venomous antisemites in her party, Kamala Harris has maneuvered for their support.”

While Harris has denied that antisemitism influenced her decision not to select Shapiro. However, it’s clear that the Democratic party is attempting to curry favor with anti-Israel Arab and Muslim voters who would likely have been turned off by Shapiro’s selection.

Josh Shapiro was one of the first ones to criticize the [anti-Israel mobs] on campus. So it doesn’t differentiate Harris very much if she picks him. That just says I’m going to continue the same policies as Biden,” said Rima Meroueh, director of the National Network for Arab-American Communities told JTA, before Harris announced her pick of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her vice-president.

When Shapiro was widely believed to be the likely pick, anti-Israel activists mounted an intense campaign against him. He was dubbed “Genocide Josh” on a website dedicated to persuading Harris not to choose him, which included threats that she would lose anti-Israel voters should she run with him.

“Every potential nominee for Vice President is pro-Israel. Yet only one, Josh Shapiro, has been singled out by a far-left smear campaign calling him ‘Genocide Josh.’ The reason he is treated differently from the rest? Antisemitism,” Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) told Jewish Insider in July.

“The antisemitic far left must never be given veto power over the selection of a presidential running mate.”
