(AP/Hussein Malla)(AP/Hussein Malla)Lebanon claims it detained Israeli spy Lebanon announced it arrested an Iraqi national suspected of spying for Israel.Lebanon’ security forces announced the arrest of an Iraqi national allegedly spying for Israel.The country’s National News Agency (NNA) reported on Saturday that the Iraqi citizen confessed to being recruited by the IDF to gather information about the Lebanese army and certain personalities in Lebanon.The NNA report added that the alleged spy was also asked to recruit people in Lebanon to form a “sabotage network,” and that he also got his brother in Iraq to spy for Israel.Israel has remained silent, and generally does not comment on such allegations.Reports of supposed exposure of Israel’s espionage efforts in Lebanon have surfaced in the past.
