WATCH: Iranian people starting to ‘take control of their own destiny’

“We’re going to see the people of Iran begin to take control of their own destiny and we, the international community, which is trying to stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon, should take a step back right now and allow this protest to continue,” says Richard Grenell, who served as acting director of National Intelligence in the Trump administration.

Protests have erupted across Iran and around the world in recent days since Mahsa Amini, 22, died while being held by the Iranian morality police for violating the country’s strictly enforced Islamic dress code. Iran police have killed an estimated 50 protesters in the last few days.
