On International Women’s Day, the Palestinian Authority’s official TV station praised women’s roles in terror, focusing on suicide bombers and other criminals responsible for killing Israeli civilians.

To mark International Women’s Day, Palestinian Authority (P.A.) TV broadcast an interview with the director of the Palestinian Women’s Union in Gaza, Amal Hamad.

Instead of discussing the achievements of Palestinian women or the inequality that they suffer in Palestinian society, Hamad chose to highlight that Palestinian women have played an important role in violence and terror, what she calls the “Palestinian national struggle.”

“We have had female martyrs, wounded and prisoners,” said Hamad, referring by name to Shadia Abu Ghazaleh, Dalal Mughrabi, Wafa Idris, Ayyat Al-Akhras, and Darin Abu Aisheh, a list that includes suicide bombers and women responsible for the deaths of Israeli children.

Terrorists Shadia Abu Ghazaleh and Dalal Mughrabi both have P.A. schools named after them.

While P.A. TV paid lip service to International Women’s Day, the network has also endorsed domestic violence against women during a number of segments, with a female reporter in 2017 exhorting viewers, “To those who use beatings and violence to solve their marital problems: Carefully read the Koranic verse again [Sura 4:34]. There are solutions before giving beatings. If you have to, there are religious rules for beatings that must be obeyed. Guys, the goal of the beatings is rebuke in a way that does not cause injury. You can even go ask someone about it.”
