Palestinian terrorist who murdered father of 10 gets life in prison

A Hamas terrorist instrumental in the murder of Rabbi Mickey Mark and the serious wounding of his wife was sent to prison for life.

An Israeli military court sentenced Mohammed Majid Amaira to two consecutive life sentences for his role in the murder of Rabbi Michael (Mickey) Mark and the grave wounding of his wife in a shooting attack last July.

He was also ordered to pay NIS 250,000 in damages.

Amaira, 38, a member of the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) security forces, drove the vehicle during the drive-by shooting. He was arrested in July, and the vehicle and weapons used in the attack were found during the arrest.

Amaira was also convicted of planning three prior terror attacks, which were not carried out.

Mohammed Pakia, the Hamas terrorist who pulled the trigger in the deadly attack, was killed in July during an IDF operation.

Pakia’s brother Saeb and cousin, Maez Pakia, had helped him hide. Both were arrested.

Mark, a 48-year-old father of 10 from Otniel, near Hebron, was murdered and his wife was severely wounded on July 1 when a Hamas terror cell shot at their car. Another two family members were wounded.

The attack took place during the last days of Ramadan, immediately following the murder of 13-year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel of Hebron by a Palestinian terrorist who had climbed into her bedroom.
