Some 29.7 million Americans say it is “acceptable” to hold neo-Nazi or white supremacist views.Nearly one in 10 Americans say it is “acceptable” to hold neo-Nazi or white supremacist views, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll.This number consists of some 29.7 million Americans.Among 1,014 respondents surveyed in the poll, 9 percent said neo-Nazi views are acceptable, with 83 percent calling such views “unacceptable” and 8 percent saying they had no opinion on the matter.A vast majority, 72 percent feel “strongly” that such views are unacceptable.The survey found that 13 percent of Republicans and 17 percent of respondents supporting President Donald Trump deemed neo-Nazi views as acceptable.The poll was conducted in English and Spanish via landline and cellphone calls from Aug. 16-20.The survey comes shortly after the violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., where a 32-year-old woman was killed and 19 were injured when a neo-Nazi supporter rammed his vehicle into a crowd of counter-protesters.By: JNS.org Charlottesville violenceNeo-NazisWhite Supremacists
