Supermodel Naomi Campbell praises Lubavitcher Rebbe on 25th anniversary of his death

Supermodel Naomi Campbell wrote an extended accolade of the Lubavitcher Rebbe on her Instagram account.

International supermodel, actress and businesswoman Naomi Campbell praised the leader of the worldwide Jewish Chabad movement, Rabbi Menachem Schneerson on the 25th anniversary of his death.

Campbell wrote on her Instagram account on July 6:

Today, is the 25th anniversary of the passing of #TheRebbe, Rabbi Menachem Schneerson. An inspirational leader, scholar, and teacher, the Rebbe taught that we are all inherently good and we each have the potential to change the world for the better, one good deed at a time.

I have personally learned so much from his wisdom and teachings, and while I never met him, I’ve visited his resting place in Queens to gain blessing and inspiration.

With so much discord and division across our society, the Rebbe’s words are more relevant than ever, and we so desperately need to take them to heart and learn from his example to always see the good in others, even those with whom we may disagree.

Today I rededicate myself to the Rebbe’s life-long mission of creating more light and goodness, and making a better future for ourselves and all of humanity. ♥️

Supermodel’s Spirituality

Campbell, who is British and of Jamaican and Chinese descent, established herself in the late 1980s and 1990s as one of the most recognizable and in-demand models of the time.

She came closer to Jewish spiritual practices by embracing Kabbalah in 2010 and visiting the Western Wall and the Church of the Nativity in Israel, in 2012.

Harper’s Bazaar ran an article in 2015 listing Campbell’s “cultural obsessions.” They quoted her as saying, “I always eat clean, healthy, kosher food.” The article also noted that she keeps a Bible on her bedside table.

Rebbe’s Legacy

Known as the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Schneerson died at the age of 92 in Brooklyn, New York. In his lifetime, he inspired people worldwide to do good deeds.

He also encouraged his followers to establish “Chabad Houses” throughout the world in order that Jewish travelers and seekers of spirituality would have a place to find kosher food, Sabbath and Jewish holiday celebrations, and Torah classes.

The grave of Rabbi Schneerson has become a place for pilgrimage, prayer, and reflection. Reports estimate that 50,000 people visited his grave for the 25th anniversary of his passing. About 400,000 people of all faiths visit the site annually.

During his lifetime, leaders from all over the world sought sage council from the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Some noteworthy visitors included Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, U.S. President Ronald Reagan, musician Bob Dylan and American politician, educator, and author Shirley Chisholm.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe’s teachings about Torah, life and even politics remain alive through his many books and videos, which are available in numerous languages.
