Ex-con Ahed Tamimi, jailed for assaulting an Israeli soldier, was released after serving three weeks in jail after she warned that Palestinians ‘will drink Israelis’ blood’.

Prominent Palestinian firebrand activist Ahed Tamimi, who rose to infamy after serving an eight-month sentence in an Israeli prison for her attack on an IDF soldier when she was 16, was among 30 Palestinian prisoners, all women or minors, released from Israeli prisons overnight Wednesday as part of the ongoing hostage deal for the Hamas terror group to set free 10 more Israelis from the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Prisoners Commission stated that 15 women and 15 teenage boys were released from Israeli prisons. Meanwhile, Qatar reported a slightly different breakdown, noting that 14 women and 16 minors were among those freed.

All of the released individuals, with one exception, had been arrested after October 7, when Hamas conducted a massacre in Israel that resulted in over 1,200 casualties and the abduction of at least 240 people who were taken hostage in Gaza.

Ahed Tamimi, now 22 and hailing from Nabi Saleh in Judea and Samaria, was arrested around three weeks ago following a social media post in which she warned that Palestinians would “slaughter” Israelis and “drink your blood.”

“We will slaughter you, and you will say that what Hitler did to you was a joke. We will drink your blood and eat your skulls. Come on, we’re waiting for you,” she wrote.

She has in the past praised Hezbollah terror chief Hassan Nasrallah for his support of her actions, and has called on all Palestinians to follow her lead and be willing to sacrifice their lives for martyrdom.

“We should always be slapping soldiers, wherever they may be, regardless of whether they did anything or not.”

She added, “This is a natural reaction to the presence of the occupation, to the presence of soldiers on my land. Everybody should be slapping soldiers.”

After serving an eight-month sentence in an Israeli prison in 2018, Ahed embarked on a victory tour, traveling across Europe and the Middle East.

Also released on Wednesday was Suhir Ismail Musa Barghouti, 64, a Hamas member from the West Bank who had been detained since October 26 on unspecified suspicions. She is the oldest woman among the hundreds of Palestinian security prisoners who could be released in exchange for hostages.

Her two sons, Asem and Salih Barghouti, carried out a shooting attack at the Ofir Junction in the West Bank in December 2018, critically injuring Shira Ish-Ran and moderately injuring her husband, Amichai. As a result of the attack, Ish-Ran, who was heavily pregnant at the time, lost her baby son.

Salih was killed by the IDF a week after the attack, and Asem was arrested a month later.

The extended Tamimi clan has a lengthy record of criminal activity and terror support.

Ahed’s cousin, Ahlam Tamimi, was a member of the terrorist cell that carried out the August 2001 bombing of the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem, killing 15 people, including eight children and a pregnant woman.

Ahlam Tamimi now lives in Jordan, protected from extradition to the U.S. where she is on the FBI’s “Most Wanted Terrorist” list as two of the victims were American citizens.

Bassem Tamimi, Ahed’s father, has been arrested several times for rioting and inciting children to commit acts of terror. Israel recently banned him from traveling abroad.

Her cousin, 21-year-old Izzeddin Tamimi, was killed in 2018 after attempting to attack an IDF soldier during a riot in Ramallah.

Ahed Tamimi, who rose to fame after serving an eight-month sentence in an Israeli prison for her attack on an IDF soldier, told a Tunisian reporter she wants all Palestinians to follow her lead, and is willing to sacrifice her life and become a martyr.

“We should all be slapping soldiers, not just me,” she told Tunisia’s Musaique FM Radio in an interview translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). “We should always be slapping soldiers, wherever they may be, regardless of whether they did anything or not.”

She added, “This is a natural reaction to the presence of the occupation, to the presence of soldiers on my land. Everybody should be slapping soldiers.”

In addition to slapping a soldier during the incident that landed her in prison, Tamimi also shoved the young Israeli. Provocations such as these are routine in her village of Nabi Saleh in Judea and Samaria, a hotbed of anti-Israel activity.

After her release from prison three months ago, Tamimi embarked on a tour across Europe and the Middle East.

Tamimi said she wants “to continue on the path of the martyrs, so that their blood will not have been shed in vain. We shall always continue on their path. I have pledged to continue to make sacrifices, even sacrificing my life, for the sake of liberating Palestine.”

In late August, Tamimi thanked the leader of Hezbollah terror group, Hassan Nasrallah, for his support.

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman instructed Army Radio to ban songs by and interviews with Yehonatan Geffen for comparing Ahed Tamimi to Anne Frank.

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman instructed Army Radio on Tuesday morning to refrain from interviewing or broadcasting songs by Israeli songwriter and author Yehonatan Geffen after he posted a poem on Instagram comparing Palestinian teenager Ahed Tamimi to Anne Frank, Hanna Senesh and Joan of Arc.

In the poem, posted Monday, Geffen said Tamimi was born into “50 years of occupation and humiliation” and compared her actions to “David who slapped Goliath.” “You will be on counted alongside Joan of Arc, Hanna Senesh and Anne Frank,” Geffen ended the poem.

Tamimi, whose actual age has been disputed, will stand trial on charges of assault and incitement, after she was filmed provoking, slapping and kicking IDF soldiers deployed in her village of Nabi Saleh last month. She was detained on December 19 along with her mother after footage surfaced of her assaulting the soldiers. Her subsequent arrest became a cause célèbre for anti-Israel activists.

Defending his decision, Liberman declared the State of Israel “will not give a platform to a drunk who compares a child who perished in the Holocaust and a brave fighter who fought the Nazis to Ahed Tamimi, a brat who attacked soldiers.”

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit criticized the defense minister saying he has no authority to instruct Army Radio what to broadcast.

In another incident involving members of a notorious family from Nabih Saleh, IDF soldiers maintained their composure in the face of what appeared to be a staged confrontation. The provocateurs were later arrested.

Members of the Palestinian Tamimi family have a long history of attempting to stage confrontations with IDF soldiers, which they film and photograph to serve as anti-Israel propaganda.

In the latest incident involving the Tamimi family, 17-year-old Ahed Tamimi was caught filming herself and a friend kicking and slapping IDF soldiers in the village of Nabih Saleh, northwest of Ramallah. While the teenage girls seemed intent on provoking an equally violent response from the soldiers, the young men maintained their composure and merely defended themselves from some of the harder blows.

The incident is remarkable because the IDF soldiers sustained several minutes of deliberate provocations including screaming, harder kicks to the shins and slaps across the face. The soldiers can be seen taking efforts to keep their weapons far from the provocateurs.

On Monday night, Tamimi was arrested by a team of IDF troops and border police officers, with the Palestinian Maan news agency reporting that Israeli troops took cellphones, cameras and laptops as part of their investigation at the Tamimi home.

“The IDF is the most humane army and operates under values that do not exist anywhere else. But its humanism can’t come at the expense of its deference and power,” Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman stated Tuesday morning.

“Whoever goes wild during the day, will be arrested at night. This is an important message,” Liberman said.

The Tamimi family, dubbed a “propaganda machine” by The Tower, was responsible for a 2015 incident involving then-12-year-old Muhammad Tamimi, who was restrained after throwing rocks at Israelis during a violent protest. The entire incident was photographed extensively and produced pictures of Ahed biting one of the soldier’s hands. Several years earlier, in another Tamimi family production, Ahed was filmed threatening to strike IDF soldiers in an incident that went viral on video.

Tamimi family revives blood libel

In online forums, the Tamimi family has spread modern versions of the age-old blood libel against Jews, spreading the lie on Facebook that Israel kidnaps Palestinian children and steals their organs as part of a conspiracy orchestrated by the “Zionist media.” In another message from Tamimi family members, Manal Tamimi tweeted about the holiest day of the Jewish year, Yom Kippur: “Vampire zionist celebrating their Kebore day by drinking Palestinian bloods, yes our blood is pure & delicious but it will kill u at the end.”

After Israelis Eitam and Na’ama Henkin were murdered in front of their four young children, Manal Tamimi tweeted, “all settlers in West Bank should stay at their house, Pal lions still free & can reach u & kill you where ever u r.”

Regrettably, groups like Amnesty International have championed the family and their patriarch Bassem, referring to their town Nabih Saleh as “the tiny village with a big voice.” The national director of the Anti-Defamation League, Jonathan Greenblatt, slammed Amnesty for their praise, stating, “Shame on Bassem Tamimi and shame on Amnesty International for supporting him while he spreads the anti-Semitic blood libel on Facebook.”

“The carefully nurtured image of the Tamimis as activists dedicated to promoting a peaceful popular uprising crumbles quickly if one examines their statements cited in published interviews and reports, as well as their publicly accessible social media activity. The Tamimis are not fighting to end Israel’s ‘occupation’ of the West Bank, but to end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state; they harbor intense anti-Semitism and openly support terrorism,” explained a report in The Tower.

Tamimi family members do not restrict their activities to staging confrontations for the cameras. Ahlam Tamimi was the mastermind of the 2001 Sbarro pizzeria bombing in Jerusalem that killed 15 civilians, among them seven children and a pregnant woman, and wounded 130 others.

A video has now been released, via court order, revealing that Palestinian activist Bassem Tamimi showed third grade children in Ithaca, NY, a presentation in which his own teenage daughter claimed that Israelis are terrorists and killers.
