By Jewish Breaking News

A pair of House Republicans are fast-tracking legislation to immortalize Charlie Kirk on U.S. currency, making the slain pro-Israel activist potentially the youngest American ever featured on legal tender.

Representatives August Pfluger of Texas and Abe Hamadeh of Arizona introduced the bill Friday directing the U.S. Treasury to mint 400,000 commemorative silver dollars bearing Kirk’s image on one side and the Biblical phrase “well done, good and faithful servant” on the other, along with his full name and the year 2026.

‘Charlie Kirk was a conservative titan whose transformational impact on millions of Americans deserves permanent recognition alongside our nation’s greatest leaders,’ said Pfluger.

If passed, the legislation would follow a tradition dating to 1892, when Congress first authorized coins to be minted to honor American patriots.

Previous honorees include Susan B. Anthony, who appeared on the dollar coin first issued in 1979; Sacagawea, featured on the golden dollar coin launched in 2000; and former Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall, whose likeness appeared on the 2005 John Marshall commemorative silver dollar.

Kirk, who founded Turning Point USA at age 18, built the organization into a powerful conservative force on college campuses, claiming chapters at over 2,500 schools.

A close ally of President Trump, Kirk was fatally shot on Sept. 10 while addressing a crowd of 3,000 at Utah Valley University.

After a 48-hour manhunt, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson surrendered to authorities after his father recognized him in surveillance photos released by the FBI.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty after Robinson’s DNA was found on the rifle left behind.

Along with the coin proposal, Kirk’s death has sparked an unprecedented wave of memorial legislation.

Last week, the House passed a resolution honoring Kirk’s “life and legacy” by a vote of 310-58, while Senate Republicans introduced measures to designate Kirk’s October 14 birthday as a “National Day of Remembrance.”

Oklahoma lawmakers have gone further, introducing legislation requiring all public universities in the state to build “Charlie Kirk Memorial Plazas” complete with statues to honor his legacy for generations to come.

With the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem today, May 14, 2018, the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence, the United States has officially recognized Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel.

Nearly 3000 years ago, in a landmark achievement, King David established Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Throughout history, ever since the Holy Temple stood in all its glory, through thousands of years of exile and until today, Jerusalem has remained the eternal capital of the Jewish People.

PM Netanyahu and President Donald Trump (Avi Ohayon/GPO)

Once again, Jerusalem history has been made.

For the first time in over 2000 years, a world power has recognized Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel – and in a most dramatic way.

And to many, this is another example of the fulfillment of biblical prophesy in modern day Israel.

When candidate Donald Trump made a campaign promise to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem, many were skeptical. They wondered: Was this just another candidate’s attempt to gain the pro-Israel vote?

On June 1, 2017, several months after President Trump’s victory, he signed the waiver to avoid moving the embassy, as had been done for decades by former presidents.

Israeli PM Netanyahu speaks at the opening of US Embassy in Jerusalem (US Embassy video)

“What about his campaign promise,” many asked. “Was it all just rhetoric?”

Six months later, on December 6, 2017, Trump said that the US will formally recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, reversing nearly seven decades of US policy. He then ordered the relocation of the US embassy to Jerusalem.

The move was expected to take years, but then came the shocker:

On February 23, 2018, Trump announced that the US will move its embassy to Jerusalem in less than three months, on May 14, 2018. The date coincides with the 70th anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel. The timing was perfect – couldn’t be better!

Today’s official opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem was truly historic, a completion of the process of formal recognition of Israel’s eternal capital.

Tri-color Jerusalem Embassy Commemorative Coin Collection

PM Netanyahu has called today “a great day for Israel, a great day for America,” and “also a great day for peace.”

Indeed, nearly 3000 years later, King David would surely be very proud….

To mark this historic occasion and to ensure that this modern-day miracle will be forever be remembered, the Jerusalem Mint has issued a limited edition set of commemorative coins, known as the Jerusalem Embassy Collection.

The coins will be awarded to President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu for their extraordinary role in the momentous event.

Israel Independence Coin in 24 Karat Gold

The Israel Independence Coin, featured in the collection, is a magnificent reminder of the fulfillment of biblical prophesy with the rebirth of Israel on May 14, 1948, as well as the US’ formal recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital.

Also included in the exclusive collection, the Jerusalem Jubilee Coin pays tribute to 50 years since the reunification of Jerusalem following the Six Day War.

Amazingly, the US embassy move coincides with the first month of Israel’s celebration of 70 years of independence and the final month of Jerusalem’s celebration of 50 years of reunification.

Jerusalem Peace Coin with verse “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem”

The Jerusalem Peace Coin, depicting the majesty of ancient Jerusalem and the Holy Temple in all of its glory, is the crown jewel of the magnificent set, as the words “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem” ring the exquisite artwork in both Hebrew and English.

It is no wonder that the Jerusalem Embassy Commemorative set is nearly sold out!

Indeed, the people of Israel and the USA are optimistic that the historic recognition of the Israeli capital and the moving of the embassy there will usher in a new era of peace, to the City of Peace, Jerusalem.

The timing simply couldn’t be better.

The coins will be awarded to President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu for their extraordinary role in the momentous event.

Israel Independence Coin in 24 Karat Gold

The Jerusalem Peace Coin, depicting the majesty of ancient Jerusalem and the Holy Temple in all of its glory, is the crown jewel of the magnificent set, as the words “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem” ring the exquisite artwork in both Hebrew and English.

It is no wonder that the Jerusalem Embassy Commemorative set is nearly sold out!

Indeed, the people of Israel and the US are optimistic that the historic recognition of the Israeli capital and the moving of the embassy there will usher in a new era of peace, to the City of Peace, Jerusalem. The timing simply couldn’t be better.
