Senior US officials argued Israel had already accepted the broader 20-point Gaza plan, insisting the new agreement merely lays out how it will be implemented. Under the framework, Hamas would gradually surrender all heavy and light weapons, dismantle its military infrastructure, close its tunnels, and cease all armed activity. The process would be monitored by an International Verification Committee, with each phase triggering a corresponding Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza.

As Hamas disarms, control of the Strip would be transferred to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), a new Palestinian technocratic body backed by a 5,000-member International Stabilization Force and a newly trained Palestinian police force. Reconstruction would begin in areas verified as demilitarized, funded by $16 billion already pledged by mainly Gulf states.

“We’re not asking Israel to do anything that isn’t in the original agreement,” a senior US official said, adding that Washington intends to hold Israel to its commitments just as it expects Hamas to honor its own. Netanyahu’s office, however, insists the proposal falls short of Israel’s demand for the complete demilitarization of Gaza, leaving the fate of Trump’s plan uncertain.

By Vered Weiss, World Israel News

Israel’s Security Cabinet approved the entry of the International Stabilization Force into the Gaza Strip on Sunday, authorizing its deployment under conditions that require continued Israeli oversight and coordination with the Israel Defense Forces.

According to a senior Israeli official, the preliminary approval is part of U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan, which led to the release of all the hostages.

Israeli officials emphasized that the IDF will continue to hold the Yellow Line and that no withdrawal will take place until Hamas has been disarmed and the Gaza Strip fully demilitarized.

The Cabinet also approved granting the International Stabilization Force immunity under Israel’s Immunities of International Organizations Law. The force will operate in full coordination with the IDF in areas beyond the Yellow Line and in locations not under Israeli military control.

Under the decision, each deployment of International Stabilization Force personnel into Gaza will require approval from the prime minister, defense minister, and foreign minister.

Israel will also determine which countries may contribute troops. At this stage, the force is expected to include about 200 representatives from friendly nations, including Uganda and Morocco.

The proposal prompted differing views within the Cabinet.

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar backed the plan, describing it as “an international plan.”

“It may be that we will not succeed, but we should not be the ones who destroy it,” Sa’ar said during the Cabinet meeting.

Minister Ze’ev Elkin said the move was consistent with an earlier government decision to bring international forces into Gaza following the release of the hostages.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir cast the lone vote against the measure. He argued that Hamas had failed to fulfill its commitments to demilitarize the Gaza Strip and surrender its weapons.

“Therefore, we are not obligated to it either,” Ben-Gvir said.

He added that he had opposed the 20-point plan from the outset and maintained that “the solution in Gaza is to encourage emigration.”

Minister Orit Strock said “the only good thing here is the international consensus,” but argued that the other side had failed to uphold its commitments.

“If the new Gaza is established, it will be remembered with disgrace,” she said.

By World Israel News Staff

Additional countries are preparing to join the planned International Stabilization Force in Gaza, signaling growing international involvement in postwar security arrangements tied to the ceasefire framework between Israel and Hamas.

Israeli public broadcaster Kan News reported Monday evening that Morocco, Greece, and Albania are in advanced discussions with the United States regarding participation in the stabilization mission.

According to new reports, Greece is expected to contribute a specialized battalion to the multinational force, equipped with armored vehicles, medical teams, and engineering units.

The deployment would form part of the next phase of stabilization efforts expected to accompany Phase Two of the ceasefire process advanced by the Trump administration.

Morocco is expected to become the first Arab country to join the force, a move viewed as politically significant within the broader regional framework supporting Gaza’s postwar transition.

The development follows earlier reports that Indonesia’s military is preparing to deploy thousands of soldiers to the Gaza Strip in the coming weeks, marking one of the largest anticipated contributions to the force.

The International Stabilization Force is a United Nations mandated multinational peacekeeping mission outlined in the Gaza peace plan agreed upon by Israel and Hamas in October 2025.

The force is intended to help maintain security, assist in training a new Palestinian police force, and oversee the demilitarization and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip following the war.

The expanding list of participating countries reflects growing international efforts to establish a coordinated security presence in Gaza aimed at preventing renewed fighting while supporting long-term stabilization and reconstruction initiatives.

By World Israel News Staff

Indonesia’s military is preparing to deploy thousands of soldiers to the Gaza Strip in the coming weeks, according to a report published by Israel’s public broadcaster Monday night, making Jakarta the first contributor to the nascent International Stabilization Force.

The report by Kan News claimed that Indonesian troops could enter Gaza later this month, following Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to Washington, D.C., on February 19.

On Tuesday, Indonesian Army Chief of Staff Maruli Simanjuntak told Bloomberg that while the plans have yet to be finalized, Indonesia is considering deploying up to 8,000 soldiers to the Gaza Strip.

That marks a sharp decline from the “20,000 or more” soldiers President Prabowo offered to send to Gaza during a United Nations General Assembly meeting last September.

While a number of countries have in the past expressed interest in supplying the ISF with troops – including Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Azerbaijan – Indonesia is the first to move toward deploying forces to Gaza.

The nature of the ISF’s mission remains unclear, though it is expected that the United Nations-backed peacekeeping force will not attempt to confront Hamas over its ongoing failure to disarm.

However, the ISF has yet to draft a comprehensive set of rules of engagement delineating how member forces will respond if and when they make contact with Hamas, and under what conditions they should use force.

According to the army chief’s statement to Bloomberg, Indonesian forces in Gaza will be primarily focused on engineering and medical operations, with no mention of whether Jakarta’s forces will be responsible for demilitarization efforts in Gaza, including the demolition of terrorist tunnels.
