Jewish actor and comedian Jon Lovitz, who has strongly backed Israel during its war against Hamas terrorists, had some choice words for his critics amid a global rise in antisemitism since the outbreak of the conflict launched by Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre across southern Israel.

“I’m speaking out because I feel I must. The world doesn’t like it when Jews fight back. Tough s—t,” The Benchwarmers star wrote Tuesday on X/Twitter.

“The positive responses I get far outweigh the vile comments,” he added. “Whenever they call me names like I’m a Nazi or has been or not funny, I realize I’ve successfully punched a bully in the nose and they’re bleeding. In the words of Sylvester Stallone… Keep punching! #IStandwithIsrael.”

A day earlier, the former Saturday Night Live cast member called out a critic who accused him of supporting “genocide” for backing Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas, pointing out the fact that the Palestinian terror group had started the war.

“I support Israel standing up for itself and destroying Hamas,” Lovitz tweeted. “So the Palestinians and Israelis can be free from Hamas terrorists who don’t care about anyone, Israelis or Palestinians. It’s not genocide, it’s war. A war Hamas deliberately started. Knowing Israel would retaliate and knowing innocent Palestinian civilians would be killed. They don’t care.”

When a user on X applauded Lovitz for being “a voice of reason and sanity against antisemitic lunatics,” the Rat Race actor replied, “How can I NOT stand up? This is how it started in Germany. This is about survival! When Jews fight back, people don’t like it. And people say I’m doing this for attention. Hardly.”

Earlier this month, the actor criticized British talk show host John Oliver for making misleading accusations about Israel’s actions during the war and rebuking the United States for supporting the Jewish state.

Lovitz also revealed in a new interview with Fox News that the only antisemitism he experienced in Hollywood has been “from other Jews,” adding that he lost movie roles for being Jewish.

Actor blasts Sanders for demand to condition aid to Israel.

Saturday Night Live veteran and Jewish comedian Jon Lovitz unleashed harsh criticism of Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

The senator made comments highly critical of Israel’s government and proposed making military funding to Israel contingent on its policies.

On X, Lovitz tweeted sarcastically that Sanders has “done a great job keeping peace in the region” and concluded, “I can’t believe you’re Jewish. You’re the most anti-Israel senator I’ve ever seen.”

In other tweets, Lovitz called Sander’s “disgusting” and “the best example of a self-loathing Jew.”

He also said about “The Squad,” a group of progressive female representatives, “It’s no secret they are horribly anti-semitic.”

Although Senator Sanders stopped short of demanding a complete ceasefire, he has repeatedly criticized Israel for the number of civilian deaths and demanded a pause in fighting.

He told CNN, “What Israel does not, in my view, have a right to do is to kill thousands of thousands of innocent men, women and children who had nothing to do with that attack,” he said.

However, his criticism neglects to mention that Hamas intentionally positioned its headquarters and its supply of explosives underneath hospitals, mosques, and other civilian centers.

Sanders’ criticisms went further and he proposed that the US government’s aid to Israel should be conditional on its policies, a proposal fiercely opposed even by many of his Democratic allies.

Lovitz ridiculed Senator Sanders proposal in a Fox News Digital interview, and pointed out the hypocrisy of his wanting to cut essential aid for Israel’s security needs, despite the fact that the Democratic Socialist senator owns three homes on a public salary of $174,000.

He mocked the senator’s position, saying, ” ‘I don’t like it when people make money. It’s not right. They should only make so much. And then it’s enough.’ Well, you have three homes. You should just have one. ‘That’s none of your business.’”

John Oliver blamed the Jewish state for the ‘relentless bombings of civilians’ while slamming the United States for sending military aid saying they are ‘heavily implicated’ in Palestinian suffering.

Jewish-American comedian and actor Jon Lovitz reprimanded British talk show host John Oliver this week after the latter criticized the United States on his HBO show for supporting Israel and the alleged “suffering” the Jewish state has caused among Palestinians in Gaza during its ongoing war against Hamas terrorists.

Lovitz wrote in a post on X/Twitter that the US would of course support its “democratic ally” Israel over a terrorist organization — Hamas — that perpetrated the deadly Oct. 7 massacre in southern Israel “so they could start a never-ending war with Israel and annihilate Israel and then Jews all over the world.” He concluded the post by saying, “God bless America. #IstandwithIsrael.”

In a separate post, the Three Amigos! star shared a link to an article headlined, “Hamas terrorists confess to raping corpses, beheading children.” Lovitz told Oliver, “Please talk about this on your next show.”

Lovitz has been strongly supportive on social media of Israel’s military campaign against Hamas since the Oct. 7 atrocities, in which Hamas terrorists killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and took over 240 others as hostages, most of whom are still in captivity.

After Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) blasted the US last week for wanting to fund Israel’s “long-term military occupation over an already battered and impoverished people,” Lovitz challenged the lawmaker in a post on X.

“Well, you’ve done a great job at keeping peace in the region,” the actor wrote sarcastically. “They don’t want peace. They want to kill all Israelis … Are you really this naive?”

During the most recent episode of Last Week Tonight With John Oliver on Nov. 12, Oliver gave an opening monologue that focused on the Israel-Hamas war. He said Israel has launched a “siege” of Gaza in retaliation for the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks and then slammed America for backing Israel and giving it military aid over the years. He accused the US of being “heavily implicated” in why Palestinians are suffering in the Gaza Strip, and commented that the “made in America” slogan Americans are so “proud of” is being tied to “stuff that’s killing people.”

“Collective punishment is a war crime,” Oliver added, referring to Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip. He blamed the Jewish state for the “relentless bombings of civilians” and made allegations about Israel’s actions towards Gaza before the war started.

“Israel’s approach to Gaza has been truly punishing,” he said. “Fencing people in, limiting exits, and trapping them inside what has been called an open-air prison … Life under a blockade there has been hard for a long time, even where there aren’t bombs flying.”

During his monologue he also said a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas “has to be the first step” in currently bringing peace to the Middle East, criticizing the leadership of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and backhandedly calling Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan as “asshole.”

“I don’t want to say anything to deny the pain of those in Israel who have lost loved ones to a truly barbarous act or who are waiting anxiously for the return of hostages,” he further noted. “[But] it has to be possible to feel the pain in one community without denying it in another.”

The Nov. 12 episode of Oliver’s show did not air as scheduled in Israel due to a “technical mishap,” a spokesperson for the Israeli television company Yes told the New York Post on Thursday. Yes said the episode is instead available for viewing on its “video on-demand” platform. The New York Post said the company declined to comment on an Israeli news report citing a Facebook post from Yes’ official social media page that accused Oliver of parroting “Hamas propaganda.”
