By Ben Sales, JTA

Macklemore has come out with his latest song slamming Israel — and it links the war in Gaza with economic hardship in the United States. It also alleges nefarious control of banks and the media.

Near the end of the music video, a frame juxtaposes a photo of a Palestinian child in the city of Jenin with one of the most infamous images of the Holocaust: a child raising his hands in the Warsaw Ghetto.

“If you still haven’t said s— about the genocide, know your grandkids one day are gonna ask you why,” Macklemore raps as the image flashes on screen.

The song, called “F—ed up” and posted yesterday, has garnered more than 14 million views on X alone.

It celebrates protests against President Donald Trump and his multibillionaire adviser Elon Musk as well as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and is closely tied to the headlines: The video includes images of Trump’s meeting last week with Netanyahu, and the chorus alludes to Elon Musk’s Nazi-like salute on Inauguration Day.

Much of the song and video focuses verbal fire on Israel and pro-Israel policy. One of the first lyrics is, “New era ushered, but white supremacy is still in charge. Talkin’ colonizing Gaza from the White House lawn” — a reference to Trump’s proposal, endorsed by Netanyahu, for the United States to take over Gaza.

From there, the song draws a connection between U.S. military aid to Israel and income inequality at home: “Killin’ Palestinian kids and we gettin’ hit with the cost,” Macklemore raps. “Why the f— you think you can’t afford the rent in your building? And you can’t afford groceries?”

Macklemore takes aim at “the oligarchy and men that control us all” while, in the video, images of tech moguls Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg, as well as Musk and Trump, flash on screen.

He then says there are powerful forces controlling the worlds of finance and media, in part to suppress anti-Israel activism.

“That’s your money, and yes, it’s all connected,” he raps. “And they controlling your feed, the information that they censor. Blockin’ hashtags, can’t say ‘#FreePalestine.’”

The video is a followup to Macklemore’s May song, “Hind’s Hall,” which was an ode to the anti-Israel encampment at Columbia University, where students forcibly occupied a campus building.

That song, like this one, is filled with images of pro-Palestinian protests and accuses Israel of apartheid and genocide. It also included an extended section saying anti-Zionism was not antisemitic.

He released another pro-Palestinian song, “Hind’s Hall 2,” later in 2024.

There are images of Jews throughout the video released on Tuesday as well, not all of them in positive contexts.

The beginning of the video accuses Stewart Resnick, who owns the Wonderful Company, and his wife Lydia of owning California’s water — an echo of an accusation that circulated during the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.

One frame shows an illustration of a jigsaw puzzle that combines the Israeli flag with a $100 bill. Another shows far-right Israeli politician Itamar Ben-Gvir handing out guns.

Another shows Trump pushing Netanyahu’s chair in at a conference table — an image that the neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes recently suggested indicated American subservience to Israel. It refers to Netanyahu as “the colonizer.”

The song also says, “You can kill people – resistance grows in the wake. And while our president sends billions to Israel’s safes, ethnic cleansing’s never gonna make Israelis feel safe.”

Pro-Palestinian voices have praised the video, while Israel advocates on social media have accused it of antisemitism.

In a post on X, David Draiman, the frontman of Disturbed who is an outspoken supporter of Israel, called on Jews to do more to fight hatred against them. His post referenced a recent AI video that depicts Jewish celebrities standing up to recent antisemitic comments by Kanye West.

Fellow #Jews, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU??” Draiman wrote. “Your voices are noticeably absent during this explosion of antisemitism. #Kanye and #Macklemore ‘s Jew hatred isn’t enough? Aren’t you ashamed that only a fake/AI generated piece exists to supposedly represent you?

By Jewish Breaking News

What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas, especially when it comes to high-profile festival drama.

Last Tuesday, Neon City Festival promoters proudly unveiled their star-studded lineup, with Grammy-winning rapper Macklemore featured among the headliners. By Monday, his name had vanished without a trace, leaving fans and industry insiders scrambling for answers.

Neon City organizers have remained tight-lipped, citing only “unforeseen circumstances” in a public statement for Macklemore’s sudden departure.

However, sources close to the festival cited by Digital Music News point to a controversial performance Macklemore gave Saturday night.

At a pro-Palestinian benefit concert in Seattle, the “Thrift Shop” singer let loose with a sharp “f—k America” during his set. While political statements from artists are nothing new, this one seems to have struck a nerve.

The antisemitic rapper himself finally broke his silence yesterday with a lengthy social media post on X. While stopping short of a full apology, Macklemore admitted to getting “caught in the moment” while performing.

“My thoughts and feelings are not always expressed perfectly or politely,” he wrote. “Sometimes I slip up and get caught in the moment. Saturday night was one of those times.”

“But do not misconstrue the word ‘f—k’ for the word ‘hate.’ It’s different to be angry than to disown,” Macklemore continued. “I’ve lost endorsements, I’ve lost business ties. I am still here, unwavering in my support for a Free Palestine.”

Out of all the antisemitic A-listers spreading misinformation, Macklemore has been particularly harsh on Israel’s defensive war in Gaza.

Just mere weeks after Hamas murdered 1,200 innocents in Israel on October 7, he signed a star-studded open letter calling for a ceasefire without preconditions.

In May, he released a protest song titled “Hind’s Hall,” ironically in support of the same violent campus takeovers being fought by congressional leaders in the Senate this week.

The footage containing the spelling error appeared in a music video released Monday by the rapper Macklemore expressing solidarity with anti-Israel protesters.

By Andrew Stiles, Washington Free Beacon

Student protesters at the University of Ottawa in Canada, a minor country best known for bordering the United States, misspelled the word “Palestine” while attempting to protest the existence of Israel.

Drone footage captured the phrase “Free Palastine [sic]” spray-painted on the steps of Tabaret Hall, the University of Ottawa’s largest building and site of the president’s office. The building is described as a “scent free zone” in which students are prohibited from wearing “perfume, cologne, aftershave, and other fragrance.”

The footage containing the spelling error appeared in a music video released Monday by the white rapper Macklemore. The song, “Hind’s Hall,” expresses solidarity with the anti-Israel protesters, as well as the Hamas terrorists whose eradication the protesters vehemently oppose.

“White supremacy is finally on blast / Screamin’ ‘Free Palestine’ ’til they’re home at last (Woo),” Macklemore raps in the video. “The blood is on your hands, Biden, we can see it all / And fuck no, I’m not votin’ for you in the fall (Woo).”

It was hardly the first time these anti-Israel college protesters have been exposed as idiots. Last month, a pair of students at New York University (annual tuition: $63,000) had the following exchange with a citizen journalist when asked why they were protesting:

Interviewer: What would you say is the main goal with tonight’s protest?

Student 1: I think the goal is just showing our support for Palestine and demanding that NYU stop—I honestly don’t know all of what NYU is doing.

Interviewer: Is there something that NYU is doing?

Student 1: I really don’t know. I’m pretty sure they’re—do you know what NYU is doing?

Student 2: About what?

Student 1: About Israel. Why are we protesting here?

Student 2: I wish I was more educated.

Indeed, we all do.

By Shiryn Ghermezian, The Algemeiener

Seattle-based rapper Macklemore said on Tuesday that he will donate all proceeds from his new song to a controversial UN agency responsible for Palestinian refugees that has come under fire for 19 of its employees allegedly participating in the Hamas terrorist attacks across southern Israel on Oct. 7.

The American rapper, whose real name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, released on YouTube this week the music video for his new track Hind’s Hall.

In the song, Macklemore, 40, raps about his avid support for students participating in anti-Israel protests at a number of university campuses across the US in recent weeks.

He claims that the often violent protesters who chant for the destruction of Israel want “peace” and implies that the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks were an act of “resistance.”

“What is threatenin’ about divesting and wantin’ peace?” he raps at the start of the song. “The problem isn’t the protests, it’s what they’re protesting/It goes against what our country is funding/Block the barricade until Palestine is free … Screamin’ ‘Free Palestine’ ’til they’re home at last.” He also claims that antisemitism is not synonymous with anti-Zionism.

In January, Israel alleged that 12 employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) were involved in the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks, assisted in kidnapping Israelis that day, and had other close ties to Hamas.

Israel said one UNRWA employee, a math teacher, was a Hamas operative who helped kidnap an Israeli soldier from Be’eri in southern Israel on Oct. 7 and assisted in the transfer of Hamas weapons and trucks.

Israel said the math teacher had a “logistical position” in Hamas’ Deir el-Balah battalion, was involved in “receiving and holding hostages,” and was “seen photographing a female hostage.”

The UN has been probing the allegations in an ongoing investigation.

Last month, a UN spokesperson said that one case had been closed and four others suspended, citing a lack of evidence.

As a result of the accusations, roughly 15 countries suspended funding to UNRWA, but some have since resumed their financial support for the agency.

In recent months, the UN received information about seven more UNRWA employees allegedly involved in the Oct. 7 attacks.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also alleged that 1,468 UNRWA workers “are known to be active” members of Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad, another terrorist group based in Gaza, and that 185 of them are “active in the military branches of Hamas.”

UNRWA has also been accused of inciting antisemitism, terrorism, and hatred of Israel in the textbooks it issues to Palestinians schools.

In Hind’s Hall, Macklemore raps about Israel: “A state that’s gotta rely on an apartheid system to uphold an occupyin’ violent/History been repeating for the last seventy-five/The Nakba never ended, the colonizer lied … Where does genocide land in your definition, huh?”

The Grammy Award-winning rapper also called out politicians who support the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and Christians United for Israel (CUFI).

The song’s title is a reference to Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall, the building that anti-Israel student protesters broke into and occupied in April.

The student activists nicknamed the building “Hind’s Hall” to commemorate Hind Rajab, a 6-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed in the Gaza Strip during Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas terrorists controlling the region.

“What if you were in Gaza? What if those were your kids?” Macklemore raps in Hind’s Hall.

“If the West was pretendin’ that you didn’t exist/you’d want the world to stand up and the students finally did/let’s get it.”

Clips of several Israel-supporting politicians are also used in the music video, including videos of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky,) Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Macklemore additionally raps about not wanting to vote for US President Joe Biden in the 2024 general election because of his support for Israel’s war against Hamas. “The blood is on your hands, Biden, we can see it all,” he raps.

While Hind’s Hall has been widely praised by anti-Israel activists, it has also received backlash from many on social media, some of whom noted Macklemore’s past allegedly antisemitic behavior.

In 2014, the rapper performed on stage in Seattle while wearing a fake wig and beard, and an oversized prosthetic nose — an outfit choice that B’nai B’rith International said was “deeply offensive and propagates Jewish stereotypes.”
