96% of Israeli Jews have favorable view of the United States, by far the highest level of any population in the world.

Israelis have the most favorable view of the US of any public surveyed, while Palestinians have the least favorable view, according to a new Pew Research Center poll showing a sharp global decline in attitudes toward Washington during President Donald Trump’s second term.

The survey, released on Tuesday, found that 81% of Israelis view the US favorably, the highest figure among the 36 countries and territories polled.

The Israeli figure was driven overwhelmingly by Jewish Israelis. Pew found that 96% of Jewish Israelis had a favorable view of the US, compared with 19% of Arab Israelis.

Pew said the Arab Israeli figure was a record low in its polling.

At the opposite end, just 9% of Palestinians in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem said they view the US favorably, the lowest rating in the survey.

Eighty-one percent of Palestinians surveyed said they view the US unfavorably.

Pew said it was unable to survey Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Across all 36 publics surveyed, a median of 37% said they had a favorable view of the US, while 57% said they had an unfavorable view. Israel was one of only seven countries or territories where more than half the public viewed the US favorably.

The survey also showed Israelis far more supportive than most other publics of Trump’s foreign policy, while Palestinians were among the most opposed.

On Iran, 73% of Israelis approved of Trump’s handling of the issue, making Israel the only surveyed country where a clear majority backed his approach. Among Palestinians, only 5% approved.

On the administration’s handling of the Gaza Strip, no surveyed country gave Trump majority approval. Israelis were evenly divided, with 48% approving and 48% disapproving of his handling of the conflict. Among Palestinians, only 3% approved.

The divide was also evident inside Israel. Pew found that 57% of Jewish Israelis approved of Trump’s handling of the Gaza war, compared with 14% of Arab Israelis.

Israelis were also among the most likely to say the US contributes to peace and stability around the world. Seventy-three percent of Israelis said the US contributes a great deal or a fair amount to global peace and stability. Just 14% of Palestinians agreed.

On the question of whether the US takes other countries’ interests into account when making foreign policy decisions, 68% of Israelis said it does. Pew said majorities in only five countries — the Philippines, Kenya, Israel, Nigeria and Sri Lanka — held that view.

The broader international picture was far more negative.

Pew found that favorable views of the US had declined significantly in 15 of the 24 countries where it had comparable data from last year. The center also found that a median of 23% across the 36 publics expressed confidence in Trump to do the right thing in world affairs.

The report also found that perceptions of the US as a reliable partner have fallen sharply since 2022, during former President Joe Biden’s administration. In Canada, for example, 83% described the US as a reliable partner in 2022, compared with 35% in the new survey.

The Pew poll was conducted between Feb. 8 and May 13, surveying 42,151 adults in 36 countries and territories.

New poll shows Israelis strongly dissatisfied with new US-Iran agreement; a mere 11% believe Israel won the recent war with Iran.

A new Israeli poll found that most Israelis do not trust President Donald Trump to protect Israel’s interests in negotiations with Iran, while only a small minority believe Israel won the war.

The Channel 12 survey, published Thursday, found that 71% of Israelis do not trust Trump to look out for Israeli interests in an agreement with Iran, compared with 13% who said they do and 16% who said they did not know.

The numbers marked a sharp deterioration from a week earlier, when 62% said they did not trust Trump on the issue and 21% said they did.

The poll also found widespread dissatisfaction with the war’s outcome. Asked how the fighting ended, 43% said Israel lost, 41% said the result was inconclusive and just 11% said Israel won.

A separate question found that 52% of respondents believed Netanyahu’s conduct had harmed Israeli interests in the US-Iran agreement, while 24% said it had helped and 24% said they did not know.

The poll adds to a growing body of survey data showing that Israeli public confidence in Trump’s handling of Israel’s security has eroded rapidly since the US moved toward a deal with Tehran.

An Israel Democracy Institute survey conducted from May 31 to June 5 found that 44% of Israelis believed Israel’s security was a central consideration for Trump, down sharply from 60% in March. Among Jewish Israelis, the share dropped from 64% in March to 41% in June.

The IDI survey was conducted before renewed Iranian missile fire at Israel on June 7-8 and before the latest escalation over the US-Iran agreement.

The poll results reflect a striking reversal for Trump, who has long enjoyed unusually high approval among Israeli Jews and was often portrayed by Netanyahu’s allies as one of the most pro-Israel presidents in US history.

But the new agreement with Iran, and Trump’s public criticism of Israeli actions in Lebanon, have triggered anger across much of Israel’s political spectrum.

The US and Iran signed an interim agreement this week aimed at ending nearly four months of war and opening a 60-day period for negotiations on a final arrangement. The talks are expected to focus on Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missile capabilities, sanctions relief, oil exports and regional ceasefires, including in Lebanon.

Vice President JD Vance, who is leading the US delegation to follow-up talks in Switzerland, told reporters before departing Washington: “I think we’re going to hopefully make progress on the nuclear issue, make progress on the Lebanon ceasefire issue.”

Trump has defended the agreement as a chance to end the war while warning Iran against violating it.

“We’re going to bomb the hell out of them if they violate the agreement,” Trump said at a press conference. “I don’t want them to. I want them to honor the agreement.”

The agreement has been welcomed by some world leaders and market analysts as a possible off-ramp from a broader regional war, but in Israel it has been widely criticized as insufficiently addressing Iran’s nuclear and missile programs and as empowering Tehran’s regional allies.

A Hebrew University poll found that about 92% of Israelis believed Iran benefited more than Israel from the joint Israeli-US military campaign, while just 8% viewed Israel as the winner. Nearly 90% said the war’s goals had not been met, and fewer than 30% believed Netanyahu’s claims of major achievements.

The Jewish People Policy Institute’s May Israeli Society Index had already shown declining confidence before the latest agreement. JPPI found that support for launching the Iran war had fallen from 72% in March to 59% in May, while the share of Israelis reporting a strong sense of victory had dropped from 56% in March to 38% in May.

JPPI also found that trust in Trump to “do the right thing” in US-Israel relations had fallen from 75% in March to 62% in May.

Palestinians nearly are unanimous in their opposition to US war with Iran, Israelis strongly support the strikes, and Americans are divided along partisan lines.

Palestinians are virtually unanimous in their opposition to American strikes on Iran, while Israelis are strongly supportive and Americans divided heavily along partisan lines, according to a new poll.

The survey, published by the Pew Research Center on Tuesday, examined public opinion in Israel, the Palestinian Authority, and the United States after the war began on February 28, when US and Israeli airstrikes killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran responded with missile and drone attacks on Israel and Persian Gulf states, and Palestinian areas also came under Iranian fire. A ceasefire went into effect on April 7 after more than five weeks of fighting.

Pew surveyed 1,001 Israelis, including 399 Arab Israelis, from April 5 to May 6. It also surveyed 1,038 Palestinians in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem from March 30 to April 28.

The report also drew on three US surveys conducted from March 16 to 22, March 23 to 29, and April 20 to 26.

The survey found that three-quarters of Israelis said the US made the right decision in attacking Iran, while just 2% of Palestinians agreed. Eight in 10 Palestinians said it was the wrong decision.

In the United States, about six in 10 adults said the US made the wrong decision in using military force against Iran, compared with 38 percent who said it was the right decision.

Israeli opinion was divided sharply by ethnicity. Among Jewish Israelis, 87 percent said Israel made the right decision in attacking Iran, compared with 19 percent of Arab Israelis.

Support also differed by political alignment. Among Jewish Israelis who support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s governing coalition, 96 percent said Israel made the right decision, compared with 77 percent of Jewish Israelis who do not support the coalition.

Israelis were also more likely than Palestinians or Americans to expect positive outcomes from the war.

Most Israeli Jews said the war would make Israel safer, while a minority of Arab Israelis agreed.

Pew found that 66 percent of Israeli Jews said the military action would make Israel safer, compared with 22 percent of Israeli Arabs.

Among Jewish Israelis who support the governing coalition, 84 percent said the war would make Israel safer. Among Jewish Israelis who do not support the coalition, 46 percent said the same.

Palestinians expressed the opposite view. Around seven in 10 said the war would make themselves, the Palestinian Authority, and the world less safe. Palestinians were also more likely to say the war would increase, rather than decrease, the likelihood that Iran develops nuclear weapons.

Thirty-one percent said Iran would be more likely to develop nuclear weapons after the war, compared with 13 percent who said it would be less likely. A 39 percent plurality said they were unsure.

Americans gave more mixed assessments of the war’s consequences. Pew found that 40 percent said the war would make the US less safe, while 22 percent said it would make the country safer.

On the war’s effect on global security, 33 percent said it would make the world less safe, 27 percent said it would make the world safer, 19 percent said it would make no difference and 19 percent said they were not sure.

US opinion was divided along party lines. Seventy percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents said the US made the right decision in attacking Iran. Ninety percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents said it was the wrong decision.

Republicans were also more likely than Democrats to expect the war to reduce Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons. Pew said Americans overall were about evenly divided on whether the war would make Iran more likely, less likely or about as likely as before to develop a nuclear weapon.

New poll finds Democrats overwhelming oppose aid to Israel, with just 15% saying they sympathize more with Israelis than with Palestinians.

A new poll points to a widening collapse in support for Israel among Democratic voters, with nearly three-quarters opposing additional US aid to the Jewish state and a clear majority saying they sympathize more with Palestinians than Israelis.

The New York Times/Siena College survey found that 74% of Democratic voters oppose “providing additional economic and military support to Israel,” while only 20% support it, according to the Times/Siena data.

The poll also found that 60% of Democrats sympathize more with Palestinians in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, compared with 15% who sympathize more with Israel.

The findings mark one of the starkest signs yet that Israel has become a major point of division between Democratic voters and the party’s leadership.

Nearly half of Democratic voters, 48%, said the party has been too supportive of Israel, while 34% said its level of support has been about right and 8% said it has not been supportive enough.

The shift is especially sharp among younger voters. Among Democratic respondents ages 18 to 44, only 7% said they sympathized more with Israel, compared with 22% among Democrats over 45.

The national results showed broader erosion as well. Across all registered voters, 57% opposed additional US economic and military support for Israel, while 37% supported it.

On the question of sympathy, voters were nearly evenly split but tilted slightly toward Palestinians, with 37% saying they sympathized more with Palestinians and 35% siding more with Israel.

That is the highest level of support found for Palestinians since the Times began polling Americans on the question in 1998, when 58% of respondents said they sympathized more with Israelis, compared to 13% who said they sympathized more with Palestinians.

The poll comes as the Trump administration faces criticism over its handling of both the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the war with Iran.

Among Democrats, 90% disapproved of Trump’s handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, while 94% opposed his approach to the Iran war. Eighty-four percent said the war with Iran was not worth the costs.

Republicans remain more supportive of Israel than Democrats, but the national toplines suggest that opposition to new aid is no longer confined to the Democratic left.

Only 37% of all respondents — and just 5% of voters ages 18 to 29 — supported additional economic and military support for Israel.

The Times/Siena survey questioned 1,507 registered voters by phone earlier this month and had a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points.

The overwhelming majority of Palestinians dislike the United States, according to a new poll, and have generally unfavorable views of other Western countries.

Earlier this month, the People’s Company for Polls and Survey Research (PCPSR), a Ramallah-based polling institute and think tank, published the results from its most recent survey of Palestinian Arabs living in eastern Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza Strip.

The poll was conducted in face-to-face interviews of 1,655 Palestinian Arab adults at 160 locations from October 8-26.

The PCPSR found that 97% of Palestinian Arabs have an unfavorable view of the State of Israel, compared to just 2% who view the Jewish state favorably.

Palestinian Arabs living in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem were the most likely to hold unfavorable views of Israel, with just 1% saying they viewed Israel favorably, compared to 4% of respondents in the Gaza Strip.

While a majority of all respondents (59%) said they back the two-state solution, just 11% said they support normalization between Israel and the Arab world, including just 5% of Arabs in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.

Even in a scenario where Israel agrees to the establishment of a Palestinian state, nearly two-thirds (61%) oppose normalization between Israel and the Arab world, while just 37% support it.

Perceptions of the United States are only slightly more favorable, with 11% of Palestinian Arabs having a positive view of the US, compared to 87% who view the country negatively.

In Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem, just 6% of Arabs have a positive view of the United States.

Palestinian Arabs have marginally more positive views of Europe, though every country listed, along with the European Union, had net-negative views.

Regarding Germany, 74% of Palestinian Arabs said they had an unfavorable view of the country, compared to just 22% who said they view Germany favorably. Among Arabs in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem, just 13% view Germany favorably.

Just 27% of Palestinians view France favorably, including 18% of Arabs in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.

Qatar and Turkey were the only countries listed to receive net-positive scores, while Palestinians were sharply divided on China and Iran.

Notably, more than half said they view Iran’s nuclear program as a critical threat to the national security interests of the Palestinian Authority, while just 20% said it was not a threat to the PA.

Just 11% of respondents approved of President Donald Trump’s foreign policies, including 7% of Arabs in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.

Less than a quarter of Israelis believe the Netanyahu government is the primary decision-maker when it comes to Israel’s security decisions, a new poll shows.

Less than one-in-four Israelis believe the Netanyahu government is in the driver’s seat when it comes to making decisions regarding Israel’s security, according to a new poll.

On Tuesday, the Israel Democracy Institute published the results of a new survey, conducted by the IDI’s Viterbi Family Center for Public Opinion and Policy Research from November 2nd to the 6th, polling 604 Israeli Jews and 152 Israeli Arabs.

The IDI study found that 44% of Israelis – including 45% of Israeli Jews – believe that the Trump administration has greater influence than the Israeli government over security decisions relating to Israel.

By contrast, just 23% of Israelis – and 24% of Israeli Jews – said the Israeli government had more influence, while 28% of Israelis and 26% of Israeli Jews believe Israel and the US have equal influence.

Left-wing and centrist Israelis were more likely to believe the US has greater influence over Israeli security policy than Jerusalem, with 64% of leftists and 54% of centrists saying the Trump administration was the primary decision-maker, compared to 37.5% of right-wingers.

The poll also surveyed Israelis regarding their views on how successful Israel has been in achieving its goals in its war against the Hamas terror organization.

While the vast majority of respondents (72%) said Israel was very or largely successful in returning all of the hostages, few believe that the other major goals have been achieved.

Just 30.5% say Israeli security control over Gaza has been successfully achieved, while only 19% believe that Israel has mostly succeeded in demilitarizing the Gaza Strip.

Even fewer (18%) believe Israel has largely succeeded in disarming Hamas, while just 12% believe Israel has been very successful in ensuring that neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority has control over the Gaza Strip following the end of the war.

New poll shows two-thirds of Israelis say Israel has become a client state of the US and that the Trump administration is dictating Israel’s moves in the Gaza Strip.

The United States is effectively dictating Israel’s policies in the Gaza Strip, with the Jewish state effectively a client state of the US, most Israelis now believe, according to a new poll.

Over the past eight weeks, the Trump administration has exerted greater pressure on the Israeli government to compromise its positions regarding the war with Hamas, following the September 9 airstrike on a Hamas gathering in the Qatari capital city of Doha.

The strike, which outraged President Donald Trump, culminated in a renewed effort by the US to broker a hostage deal, which was achieved a month after the Doha attack.

Since the beginning of the ceasefire, the US has pressed Israel not to abandon the Gaza peace plan, despite ongoing violations by Hamas.

Last week, Vice President JD Vance and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu both rejected claims that Israel was being controlled by the US.

Vance, however, did say at an event organized by Turning Point USA that the Trump administration had used its “leverage” over Israel to secure the Gaza ceasefire deal.

According to a poll published by Israel’s Channel 12 on Friday, 69% of Israelis disagree with statements by Netanyahu and Vance that Israel is not a “vassal state” or “client state” of the US.

The poll, which was conducted by the Midgam polling institute, found that just 25% of Israelis do not believe Israel has become a client state of the US.

In addition, the survey found that two-thirds of Israelis believe that it is the US, rather than Israel, that is making key decisions regarding IDF actions in the Gaza Strip.

Just 24% of respondents said Israel is the primary decision-maker for IDF actions in Gaza.

Georgia, a crucial swing state, received more than 24 threats, most of which occurred in Atlanta’s Fulton County, Georgia’s most populated district.

More than two dozen non-credible bomb threats targeting polling places across the country came from “Russian email domains,” the FBI said Tuesday.

“The FBI is aware of bomb threats to polling locations in several states, many of which appear to originate from Russian email domains. None of the threats have been determined to be credible thus far,” the agency said in a statement.

The FBI did not say which states received the threats. One official told Reuters that Georgia, a crucial swing state, received more than 24 threats, most of which occurred in Atlanta’s Fulton County, Georgia’s most populated district.

At least two Fulton County polling locations targeted by the threats were briefly evacuated on Tuesday. Those two locations reopened after half an hour, officials said. The county is urging a judge to extend the voting sites’ hours past the 7 p.m. deadline.

Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger condemned Russia’s interference in his state’s elections.

“They’re up to mischief, it seems. They don’t want us to have a smooth, fair, and accurate election, and if they can get us to fight among ourselves, they can count that as a victory,” he said.

Raffensperger also applauded Georgia’s response to the initial threats saying, “We pretty well dispelled that very quickly.”
