Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip have fired nearly 10,000 rockets at Israeli territory since Hamas launched its multi-pronged attack on the Jewish state one month ago, according to data published by the Israeli Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.

Jerusalem said the numbers are not final and are constantly being updated. Throughout Tuesday, multiple air-raid sirens were activated in central Israel and localities near the border with Gaza.

Approximately 1,400 people have been murdered in Israel since Oct. 7, while 7,198 more have been wounded. As of Tuesday evening, 342 people remain hospitalized, of whom 51 are in serious condition, according to Israeli Health Ministry data.

Hamas is believed to be holding at least 239 people hostage in Gaza. Along with Israeli citizens, this figure includes 25 Thai nationals, 21 Argentinians, 18 Germans, 10 Americans, seven French, seven Russians, four Hungarians, three Poles, three Portuguese, two Brits, two Filipinos, two Romanians and two Tanzanians.

In addition, the terror group is holding hostage individual nationals of Canada, Austria, Brazil, China, South Africa, Denmark, Ireland, Lithuania, Mexico, Nepal, the Netherlands, Serbia, Ukraine and Uruguay.

More than 330,000 Israeli citizens have returned from abroad since the start of “Operation Swords of Iron,” the Israel Airports Authority announced on Tuesday, increasing the Jewish state’s population by almost 3.5%.

At the same time, Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics recorded a sharp decrease in foreigners, including tourists, entering the country. Approximately 98,600 visitors traveled to Israel in October, a decrease of 73% compared to the same month in 2022.

Since Oct. 7, the Israel Defense Forces has attacked over 14,000 terror targets in Gaza, IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Daniel Hagari said on Tuesday night. Troops have killed “thousands of terrorists above and beneath the ground” in the coastal enclave, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On Wednesday, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen is scheduled to travel to Brussels together with some of the families of the hostages, according to Hebrew media reports. As part of the visit, Israel’s top diplomat will reportedly address the European Parliament and meet with senior E.U. officials.

“Today, we mark one month since the terrible massacre committed by Hamas terrorists who infiltrated Israel. They committed the most horrible atrocities imaginable, murdered children, harmed women and kidnapped hundreds of civilians, including elderly people and children,” tweeted Cohen on Tuesday.

“We will never forget and never forgive. We will destroy Hamas, a terrorist organization worse than ISIS, and we will do everything in our power for the return of the hostages. I call on the international community to stand by our side in the fight against evil,” he added.

The Israel Defense Forces on Sunday shared video evidence of Hamas rocket launchers placed next to a children’s swimming pool and a playground in the northern Gaza Strip.

Israel has long decried the terrorist group’s practice of committing war crimes by deliberately placing rocket launchers near and in civilian sites such as hospitals, schools, mosques and United Nations buildings.

One of the videos circulated by the IDF on its social media channels shows four rocket launching barrels in a residential neighborhood of the city of Beit Hanoun, some 16 feet from a children’s swimming pool and around 65 to 100 feet from residential buildings.

“All of this is in the heart of a residential neighborhood,” a soldier explains.

The IDF also provided video and pictures of rocket launchers positioned within a children’s playground and amusement park compound.

“This is further proof of the Hamas terror organization’s constant use of the civilian population as a human shield for terror purposes,” the IDF said in a statement.

Hamas has fired more than 8,000 rockets at Israeli civilians since Oct. 7, when thousands of its terrorists invaded the western Negev, murdering 1,400 persons, wounding over 5,000 others and taking more than 200 hostages back to Gaza.

‘If you shoot [rockets], we will respond harshly,’ IDF tells Gaza-based terror groups.

After the Israeli army launched a wide scale operation targeting terrorists in Jenin on Monday morning, the military warned the Gaza-based Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror groups not to launch retaliatory rocket fire against Israel.

According to Kan News, senior military officials sent strongly-worded messages to their counterparts in the terror groups, urging them to avoid responding to the IDF offensive in Jenin.

“Don’t intervene because you are not being targeted. If you shoot [rockets], we will respond harshly. An attack would be a mistake, and we will respond with all our might,” a source told Kan News, describing the message sent to senior terror operatives.

In a statement, Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh called on the Palestinian people “to support Jenin and safeguard its citizens to foil [Israel’s] schemes.”

Haniyeh added that “the outcome of [Israel’s] offensive against Jenin will shape the forthcoming phase.”

Jenin has long served as a hotbed for terror groups, as the weakened Palestinian Authority has lost legitimacy and governing power in the city.

Numerous deadly attacks against Israeli civilians in recent years have been carried out by terrorists from the city or nearby towns and villages.

It’s unclear whether Hamas will respond with rocket fire to the Israeli counterterror raid of the city. While the terror group does use the city as an operations base, along with Islamic Jihad, Hamas has been reticent to engage in conflict with Israel since the May 2021 Operation Guardian of the Walls clash.

During the recent May 2023 Operation Shield and Arrow fighting, Hamas did not launch rockets at Israel after the IAF targeted Islamic Jihad sites in the Strip.

In August 2022, Hamas similarly did not respond or aid the Islamic Jihad terror group when its assets were bombed by the Israeli air force, choosing to stay out of the conflict.

After years of refusing to allow the importation of spare parts for motorcycles to the Gaza Strip out of fear that the materials could be used for terror purposes, Palestinian officials announced that Israel had permitted a massive shipment of the parts.

“The Ministry of Transportation in Ramallah is announcing that the Israeli side is allowing the importation of motorcycle spare parts into the Strip, for the first time” in years, said the chairman of the Gaza merchants’ Union in a media statement quoted by Channel 12.

The chair added that the decision came after “many efforts to permit their entry, after Israel repeatedly rejected the import in the past.”

Anis Arafat, a spokesman from the Gaza Ministry of Transportation, told Arabic-language media outlets that the importation of the parts would “have a positive effect on the high prices and prevent monopolies in the [local] markets.”

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) body, which is a unit of the Defense Ministry that coordinates on civilian issues between the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority, did not answer an inquiry from Channel 12 regarding the decision.

But while the importation of the parts is likely good news for Gazan consumers and its transport authorities, there are major security concerns that come along with the move.

The reason why Israel would not permit the transfer of the materials for many years is because many elements within those imports could be used for anything from bomb-making to helping terrorists flee targeted IDF assassinations.

Hamas often leverages motorcycles in order to transfer weapons and even rockets throughout the Strip and transport terrorists to rocket launch sites in remote areas closer to Israeli communities.

While the majority of the world’s media attention focused on Israel’s targeted assassination of six leaders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in the recently concluded Operation Shield and Arrow, the IDF also recorded major success in destroying much of its terror-production infrastructure, Hebrew-language Walla News reported.

In an exclusive interview, commanders in the IDF’s intelligence branch described the high-quality targets that the air force destroyed over the course of five days earlier this month. More than a third, 12 out of 32, were obliterated within minutes of the opening shots of the conflict, when Israeli missiles took out three of the PIJ’s most important commanders.

Targets included a tunnel deep underground that contained the PIJ’s largest rocket-producing facility. A senior military intelligence official said that the Iranian proxy “was for sure surprised by our success in locating the factory, and certainly by our 90% destruction of it.”

Israeli Air Force (IAF) jets also demolished explosives-manufacturing laboratories, launch pits and weapons depots.

Hitting them so quickly “critically improv[ed] our protection [of civilians],” said a senior IAF officer. “We hurt their launch capabilities, prevented a greater number of rockets being fired… including without a doubt on the [central] Gush Dan area.”

The PIJ still managed to launch 1,468 rockets at Israel, but most landed in open areas and 291 fell short in the Strip itself, killing several Gazans, including children. The Iron Dome interception system shot down 437 heading toward populated areas. Only two people were killed as a result of the few missiles that got through, one of them a Palestinian man from Gaza who was working in southern Israel.

Major A is in charge of the intelligence department in the research brigade whose hard work goes on year-round, with soldiers – including one on the autistic spectrum – who spend their days discerning hidden weapon-producing and launch sites as well as smuggling routes from pictures taken by Israel’s eyes in the sky that continuously patrol the Gaza Strip and its borders.

Once they have proven what the sites are, “we also recommend what to attack and how, and explain what the sensitivities are regarding each and every target,” Major A. explained. “The targets we hit during Operation Shield and Arrow are very significant, and each one of them is an achievement that took a tremendous amount of effort.”

One target that was particularly difficult but vital to find was a warehouse that stored chemicals that were laboriously smuggled into the Gaza Strip. It was built in a civilian area, as the Palestinians know that Israel tries to avoid civilian casualties in its war on terror as much as possible.

“It’s a target we attacked in Operation Breaking Dawn,” Maj. A. said, referring to the three-day clash last August, when the PIJ fired over 1,100 rockets at Israel and the IDF responded with some 147 airstrikes against the terror group. “They rebuilt the site and we found it again and hit it. These precise actions create a sense of persecution in the PIJ.”

It’s a Sisyphean job, he acknowledged.

“It’s a continuous struggle,” he said. “The enemy does not give up and does not concede and is constantly thinking of how to trick us, how to improve and make it difficult [for us]. We need to constantly be creative in order to expose them and delay their processes.”

Some of that creativity was revealed by Lieut. E., a visual intelligence specialist, who told Walla that artificial intelligence was used in the operation as well as new, unspecified tools.

Lieut. Y., who heads the PIJ section in the intelligence unit, explained that the successful strikes on the weapons-production sites the unit had found will affect the terror group in the long run as well, as “they don’t have an endless supply of weapons.” The fact that the IDF regularly locates and shuts down smuggling routes in ways she refused to divulge also contributes to the shortage, she added.

The officer estimates that it will be two years before the terror group manages to replenish what it had lost in these five days, which “pushes off the next war with the PIJ.”

According to a source in Gaza, the Hamas terrorist group is demanding compensation from Israel for staying out of its recent war with Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Israel National News reported.

The IDF launched Operation Shield and Arrow 10 days ago in response to rockets fired into Israeli territory by PIJ.

Speaking at a Likud party meeting Monday afternoon, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the operation as a major success and a definitive victory over Islamic Jihad, noting that the five-day campaign had wiped out half of the terrorist group’s leadership, and restored quiet to southern Israel.

“Something has changed. We came to change the deterrence equation – and not for the first time. The most significant change in the balance of deterrence took place two years ago in Operation Guardian of the Walls,” the prime minister said, referencing the May 2021 conflict with Hamas.

Netanyahu noted that since the operation two years ago, Hamas has avoided engaging in rocket attacks against Israel.

Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, reportedly gave its consent to PIJ to launch an attack on Israel despite staying out of the conflict this time.

“Since Guardian of the Walls, Hamas has not fired a single rocket into our territory. They are deterred. Operation Guardian of the Walls dealt Hamas the hardest blow in its history and caused a change in the deterrence equation and it has been working for two years now,” the prime minister said.

PIJ began its rocket launch following the death of hunger-striking terrorist leader Khader Adnan in an Israeli prison.

It appears that Israel’s war with the Gaza-based Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group, which has been launching deadly rockets across the border, is fighting the Jewish state on yet another front – namely, social media.

During the recent fighting in Gaza, PIJ has been utilizing bots on Facebook to hack into Israelis’ mobile phones, according to the Digital Research division of Zionist NGO Im Tirtzu

Over the past weekend, the organization monitored a number of profiles suspected of being operated by Islamic Jihad and other suspicious players working to hack into the phones and computers of Israeli citizens by distributing malicious links.

“We have already located three that are utilized by Palestinian Islamic Jihad and have located multiples others that are probable,” an Im Tirtzu spokesperson told World Israel News.

The activity was first identified in groups of residents of the south and later among those affiliated with the national camp, current affairs groups, and more, the NGO said in a press release Sunday. Some profiles have reportedly been running for years and boast thousands of followers.

“This is a particularly disturbing phenomenon. Trying to lure citizens into malicious links posing as lottery sites, vacation booking sites, sites for watching free sports and especially dating sites,” said Dov Trachtman, head of the division.

“This has several purposes,” he continued.

“First, access to personal information and access to bank accounts, social networks, or classified and sensitive information if soldiers or officials are involved. It is also possible that by operating cameras and microphones remotely, they will try to degrade people or even blackmail them into performing various actions.

“The recommendation is to always be suspicious of links from strangers, no matter if they have 100 friends or 15,000 followers. Keep antivirus software intact and, of course, report and warn others about any suspicious activity,” he advised.

Speaking at a Likud party meeting Monday afternoon, Netanyahu touted Operation Shield and Arrow as a major success and a definitive victory over Islamic Jihad, claiming that the five-day campaign had wiped out half of the terrorist group’s leadership, and restored quiet to southern Israel.

“I came now from Ashkelon. I was at the marina and I met smiling, happy people, who are sitting in the cafes and supporting the government’s determined fight against terrorism,” Netanyahu said.

“Something has changed. We came to change the deterrence equation and not for the first time. The most significant change in the balance of deterrence took place two years ago in Operation Guardian of the Walls,” the prime minister continued, referencing the May 2021 conflict with Hamas.

Netanyahu vowed that the annual Jerusalem Day Flag March will “take place as usual” this Thursday, along the traditional route.

Lebanon-based terrorists threaten violent response to Flag March scheduled for Thursday if parade route includes Muslim neighborhood.

Terror groups based in Lebanon said that they were gearing up for a violent response to the Jerusalem Day flag march scheduled for Thursday, despite the fragile ceasefire between Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Israel.

Speaking to the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Akhbar newspaper, a senior terrorist said that multiple terror groups were coordinating regarding retaliatory measures – presumably firing rockets at Israeli civilian communities – ahead of the march in Jerusalem.

“The issue of the Flag March was not included in the ceasefire agreement, and the resistance has not taken its eye off the city at the moment and is ready to deal with any development or provocation by the occupation government,” the terrorist told the outlet.

The march could serve as a “grenade that may blow up the situation in all the Palestinian territories,” he warned.

Developments at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount are also being watched closely, he added. Any change to the status quo, such as allowing Jews freedom to pray at the site, could lead to a “campaign that will be bigger, more extensive and not limited to the Gaza Strip.”

Each year, Israelis parade through the streets of Jerusalem, including the Muslim Quarter in the Old City, while waving Israeli flags as part of a public holiday commemorating the reunification of the capital city in 1967.

Pro-Palestinian activists and Arab-Israeli Palestinians have framed the presence of the country’s national flags in the Muslim neighborhood as a provocation, and recent years have seen clashes between Arabs and Jews during the event.

In May 2021, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu caved to threats from terror groups and rerouted the march to avoid Muslim areas. Despite the concession, Hamas launched a rocket at Jerusalem during the celebrations, setting off the Operation Guardian of the Walls clash.

Less than 24 hours after the current ceasefire between Islamic Jihad and Israel, a rocket was launched towards Asheklon and other communities in southern Israel. Gaza terror groups claimed that the launch was the result of a “technical malfunction,” but Israel swiftly retaliated by bombing Hamas assets in the Strip.

One rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip at the southern city of Ashkelon on Sunday evening, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed.

The rocket struck in an open area, causing no injuries or damages, according to the military.

The Iron Dome air defense system was not activated as the projectile was not headed for a populated area.

Palestinian terror groups said the launch was the result of a technical malfunction.

In response, the IDF struck a Hamas observation post in Gaza.

Israel and the Gaza-based Palestinian Islamic Jihad on Saturday night reached a ceasefire agreement to end five days of conflict.

While Hamas did not participate directly in the hostilities, Jerusalem has a longstanding policy of holding Gaza’s rulers responsible for attacks emanating from the enclave.

Israeli media reported that the defense establishment did not expect the latest rocket attack to reignite the fighting with Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

During “Operation Shield and Arrow,” PIJ fired 1,469 projectiles at Israel, of which 1,139 crossed into the Jewish state (there were also 291 failed launches, or 20% of all PIJ rockets).

Iron Dome intercepted more than 95% of rockets heading for built-up areas. David’s Sling intercepted two rockets, making its operational debut. The IDF struck more than 371 PIJ targets, including command and control apartments, usually located in one- to three-story residential buildings, which the IDF warned so they could be evacuated before it attacked them.

The strikes on military leaders and command and control centers placed PIJ under pressure, ultimately pushing its Beirut-based leader Ziyad al-Nakhalah to accept a truce.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group issued a statement urging children in Gaza to go onto their rooftops at 9 p.m. to celebrate the death of the first Israeli by rocket fire.

Three hours earlier, one person died and at least five were injured when building in Rehovot collapsed after sustaining a direct hit from rocket fire.

Palestinian terrorists launched more than 800 rockets and mortars at Israel in a period of 36 hours, the IDF said.

Missile defense systems intercepted 179 of the 620 rockets that made it over border. 152 fell short in Gaza.

The IDF continued to take out terror targets in Gaza on Thursday evening, including an Islamic Jihad observation post, a mortar launching position and underground rocket launchers.

The airstrikes did not deter the PIJ from encouraging children to head for the roofs.

Senior PIJ leaders who were killed in Israeli raids also gathered their children around them in the hope of using them as human shields.

The opposition leader pledged to support the government in its war against Gaza-based Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists, but it seems he couldn’t wait more than a couple of days to counter current policy.

After months of leading massive protests against the Netanyahu government ostensibly over the controversial judicial reform, which has been put on hold for now, Opposition leader Yair Lapid vowed to give his full backing to the government’s war on terror.

“The opposition will support the government in any military action that will bring peace and security to the residents of the south,” he tweeted last week, when the IDF struck back at Gaza terrorists who had fired rockets into Israeli territory following the death of hunger-striking terrorist Khader Adnan.

Again this week, with the start of the IDF’s Operation Shield and Arrow, Lapid pledged unity, saying that “a firm Israeli response at a time and place that is good for us is the way to deal with terror from Gaza. We will back all operational activity to protect the residents of the south.”

Just two days later, however, on Thursday morning, Lapid said in an interview with Kan Radio that it’s time to stop the operation – in contrast to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement to the nation the previous evening that “the campaign is not yet over.”

“The operation is justified. A few days ago, they fired hundreds of rockets, and to repair deterrence, we must respond. There are no political gains that Israel needs at the moment from this operation. The operation had nice results, and we must stop now,” Lapid told the radio station.

It isn’t clear what “political gains” he was referring to, as the operation is in fact a defense measure for the security of Israeli civilians, particularly those living in the Gaza envelope.

The threat is far from over, as was seen later in the evening when a rocket achieved a direct hit on a building in Rehovot, killing one man and wounding several others.

As of 8 p.m. Thursday, since the start of the operation Tuesday morning against both the leadership and the infrastructure of the PIJ, the IDF has struck 191 targets, including facilities for the production of weapons, underground tunnels and leading terrorists, TPS reported.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah Movement published a video of terrorist Khalil Al-Bahtini, one of the three Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) top leaders that Israel killed earlier this week.

In the video, Al-Bahtini calls for Jihad against Israel, praises “Martyrdom” for Allah, vows to educate Palestinian children to “hate the Zionist entity,” and urges to “blow up all of this Zionist entity’s cities.” Al-Bahtini also stressed that “negotiations” are not an option.

“What we were educated on, and [what] our culture is, is that whoever lives on this land and does not merit Martyrdom, he has lost out,” he said, according to a translation of his remarks by monitoring group Palestinian Media Watch.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists scored a direct hit on a building in Rehovot, claiming the life of one victim and wounding several others.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday, one person died and at least five were injured after a building in Rehovot collapsed following a direct hit from rocket-launching terrorists in Gaza.

The victim was trapped under the rubble and critically wounded – he died minutes later.

United Hatzalah volunteers have provided initial treatment to five people who sustained light injuries, including a woman in her 60s who sustained a head injury. The organization’s Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit is treating many people for shock.

“When we arrived on the street we saw a lot of destruction in the building. We immediately went inside and began to search the apartments. In the apartment on the third floor, an unconscious victim was found with a very severe multi-system injury and we had no choice but to determine his death,” said Magen David Adom medics Yedidia Hachmon and Tomer Peshko.

They also found a 74-year-old man in another apartment whose leg was trapped under the rubble, TPS reported. He was rescued by the fire brigade and transported on a stretcher to the MDA ambulance, which sent him for further treatment at the hospital in moderate condition.

Police forces and rescue services are searching for more people who may be trapped under the rubble.

Rehovot is located approximately 20 km. south of Tel Aviv.
