ZOA urges AOC to fire staffer for “false” and “hateful” remarks that come on the heels of a spike in violent attacks on Jews.

Jewish advocacy groups are calling for Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to fire her legislative assistant, who made a number of incendiary anti-Israel remarks on Instagram.

“Israel is a racist European ethnostate built on stolen land from its indigenous population,” declared Ocasio Cortez’s staff member Hussain Altamimi under a post titled “Let’s talk Palestine.”

The December post, to which Altamimi had added his own caption, read, “This reveals the principle underpinning Israeli apartheid: It’s not about where you’re born. It’s about whether you’re Jewish or non-Jewish”

“Your ethnicity determines your rights [and] level in the racial hierarchy. Israel is an exclusive ethnostate, established to serve one ethnic group at the expense of another,” the post concluded.

Zionist Organization of America president Morton Klein wrote in an open letter to Ocasio-Cortez that Altamimi’s comments were “false” and “hateful.”

In a reference to a string of violent incidents during May 2021’s Operation Guardian of the Walls Israel-Gaza clash, Klein noted that Altamimi’s “vitriolic posts are likely to add to the atmosphere of anti-Semitism and hatred that has fueled increasing, frightening, violent attacks on Jews in New York and throughout the United States.”

Klein also pointed out that the post accused Israel of committing apartheid, but ignored anti-Jewish policies that are enshrined in the laws of the Palestinian Authority.

“The Palestinian Authority states that no Jews will be allowed to live in their entity; condemns Arabs to death for selling property to Jews; and pays Arabs’ lifetime pensions to murder Jews and Americans,” he wrote.

“The P.A. also names schools, streets and sports teams after Jew-killers.”

Ocasio-Cortez has not publicly commented on Altamimi’s remarks, or if she plans to terminate the staffer.

Altamimi is the surname of a prominent Palestinian family that includes Ahlam Al-Tamimi, the female terrorist behind one of the most notorious suicide bombings of the Second Intifada.

Her cousin, Ahed Al-Tamimi, gained international notoriety as a teenager for a 2017 viral video in which she was seen slapping an Israeli soldier.

It’s unknown if Hussain Altamimi is a member of that family.

Mohammed Tamimi, 15, is seen in this video claiming that his severe head injury in December 2017 was the result of an IDF bullet.

Tamimi was among 16 terror suspects arrested overnight Sunday in Nabi Saleh in Samaria. His teenage cousin, Ahed Tamimi, known for spreading anti-Israel propaganda through ‘Pallywood’ clips, was arrested in December after being filmed assaulting an IDF officer; she currently faces charges in a military court, where she claims she was reacting to the violence afflicted on Mohammed.

On Monday, the head of the IDF’s Coordination of Government Activities in the​ Territories (COGAT), posted on social media: “Lo and behold, today Tamimi himself admitted to the police and COGAT officials that in December he was injured while riding his bike and was hit by bicycle handlebar during a fall from the bike. The Palestinian culture of falsehoods and incitement is relentless among the Tamimi family.”

Records from the boy’s visit to the Istishari Hospital in Ramallah, released by the Tamimi family, contradict Mordechai’s claim. International media is reporting the contradiction as evidence that Mohammed was indeed severely wounded by the IDF bullet, ignoring the fact that the hospital is located in the Palestinian Authority-ruled area, where freedom of expression is suppressed.

Israel is taking action against a Palestinian family notorious for its international anti-Israel activism.

Israel is stepping up its actions against the Tamimi family, a Palestinian family notorious for their publicized provocations against the Jewish state.

The Israel Hayom daily reported that Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman instructed his ministry on Wednesday to sanction the family, possibly in an attempt to curtail the family’s decade-long anti-Israel campaign.

The family “star,” Ahed Tamimi, 16, was arrested last month after she was documented provoking IDF soldiers and then assaulting them as they operated to quell a violent protest in the village of Nabi Saleh.

Tamimi and her family routinely engage in provocations against the IDF. The blonde-haired blue-eyed woman is one of the most famous Palestinians alive. She has been honored by world leaders, NGOs, and the global press. She first became famous in 2012 after a video, allegedly depicting her facing IDF soldiers alone and shouting at them, went viral. Google lists over 729,000 news stories that mention her.

She was indicted last week on two counts of assault and 10 counts of rioting, hindering security forces in the line of duty and incitement to violence.

Tamimi’s mother, Nariman, and cousin Nur, who also participated in the provocation, have also been indicted for incitement.

Liberman signed an order preventing the girl’s father, Bassem, who has been arrested multiple of time for rioting and anti-Israel activism, from traveling abroad.

In 2011, Bassem was convicted and jailed for inciting minors to commit violent crimes when he was caught organizing the village children to march towards the neighboring Israeli community of Halamish and throw stones.

Liberman also ordered that the entry permit to Israel for 20 of Tamimi’s relatives be revoked, following what he said was the entire family’s involvement in inciting violence and terrorism.

Ahlam Tamimi, who is described by the Hamas military wing as their first female recruit, is also the first cousin of Bassem Tamimi and a Nabi Saleh native.

Ahlam was a member of the Hamas terrorist cell that executed the August 2001 bombing of the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem, which claimed the lives of 15 victims.

Liberman called for severe action that exhausts all legal measures to generate deterrence against the family and other anti-Israel activists, Israel Hayom reported.

He stressed that he will not tolerate incidents in which Palestinian protesters assault Israeli soldiers and incite terrorism.
