Trump: US-Israel relationship repaired ‘as soon as I took oath of office’

The US-Israel relationship was fully repaired immediately after Trump’s inauguration into the White House the new US president declared.

US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News journalist Sean Hannity that was aired on Thursday, said that the US-Israel relationship was repaired as soon as he was sworn into office.

“It’s repaired,” said Trump. “It got repaired as soon as I took the oath.”

Trump also repeated remarks he had made in December regarding the unfair treatment of Israel at the UN shortly after the UN Security Council voted unanimously, with an abstention by the Obama Administration, to pass a resolution condemning Jewish construction in eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.

“Israel’s been treated very, very badly,” Trump said in the interview, notably avoiding any specific reference to his predecessor in that regard.

Trump refused to provide details when asked  about the plan to move the US embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. or the reported freezing of Obama’s parting gift of $221 million to the Palestinian Authority.

“I don’t want to talk about it yet,” the president said. “It’s too early.”

Trump’s cybersecurity adviser and former mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, in an exclusive interview with the Jerusalem Post, said that the plan is still “under active consideration” but that the president is going through a number of prerequisite steps in order to move forward.
