IDF bombs Hamas post in response to gunfire

The IDF shelled a Hamas position in Gaza after terrorists shot at an IDF unit operating on the border fence.

Palestinian terrorists from Gaza fired at an IDF unit conducting maintenance work on the border fence with the Gaza Strip on Thursday morning.

No Israelis were wounded in the attack, and no damage was caused by the gunfire.

In response, IDF tanks fired at and destroyed a Hamas post in the vicinity of the attack.

The IDF has repeatedly stated that it holds Hamas, which rules Gaza, responsible for all attacks on Israel emanating from the Strip.

This incident comes after a relatively long period of quiet on the border.

There have been several previous sporadic shooting and mortar attacks against civilian targets and against IDF forces operating on the border. There were no injuries in any of those incidents.
