Fritzhand, The AlgemeinerThe Iranian regime is set to transfer hundreds of millions of dollars from the state treasury to Hamas terrorists, according to a report from “Iran International,” a Persian language news television channel headquartered in London. The report, which did not specify an exact amount, claims that the funds are part of a budget already determined in the early days of the war to support the terror group in its war against Israel.The move comes a day after the United States announced a range of sanctions against individuals and entities associated with the Gaza-based terror organization, as well as Iran and other terror groups it supports.The funds, according to Iran International, will be immediately transferred to the fighters in Gaza, including those associated with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in the Strip. This is part of the so-called “Al-Quds Force” budget, in reference to the Arabic term for Jerusalem.Iranian military and financial support for Hamas has a long history. According to US and Israeli estimates, Iran sends Hamas around $100 million per year.Iran is also a major sponsor of Hezbollah in Lebanon, the group that has been firing rockets nearly daily since the war started on October 7.
