Argentinian President Javier Milei included a visit to the Aish World Center in Jerusalem on Thursday night. The visit came amid his first trip to Israel since assuming office in November of 2023.

President Milei is recognized for his support for Israel and his personal enthusiasm for the Jewish faith. Between meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog, visits to the Western Wall, Yad Vashem, and a trip south to Kibbutz Nir Oz, President Milei made sure to visit the Aish rooftop and new center for Jewish learning for our Spanish-speaking program dedicated to students from Latin America and led by the Director of the Aish Latin American program, Rabbi Zvi Klor.

During the visit, Milei told Klor; “I wanted to say thank you for allowing me this experience the spirituality of Jerusalem. This entire trip to Israel, and to Jerusalem specifically, gave me a lot of strength of faith.”

After the visit, Rabbi Klor spoke about the importance of the visit. “This is the first South American head of state who has visited Israel since the war started. President Milei is a true friend of Israel. His incoming Ambassador to Israel Axel Wahnish, is a close personal friend of mine and accompanied Milei for his visit. We are honored to have a friend such as Milei and such an important country as Argentina standing alongside Israel, especially in times such as these.”

CEO of Aish Rabbi Steven Burg added: “We are very thankful that President Milei took some time out of his busy schedule to visit Aish and embrace the spiritual side of Jerusalem. We were happy to host him and give him the opportunity to visit the largest Spanish-speaking Judaic studies program in Israel. It was an honor for us and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the President, incoming ambassador Wahnish, and the people of Argentina.”
