Iran launched at least seven ballistic missiles toward Israel Wednesday morning, setting off air raid sirens in cities and towns across central and northern Israel on Passover Eve.
Separately, Houthi terrorists in Yemen announced that they carried out an attack on a “sensitive site” in Israel with a “barrage of ballistic missiles.”
Air raid sirens were sounded in southern Israel after a missile launch was detected in Yemen.
A total of 16 people were injured in the missile attacks, the Magen David Adom (MDA) and United Hatzalah emergency first responder organizations said.
One Iranian missile attack, which used a cluster warhead, left an 11-year-old girl in critical condition in the central Israeli city of Bnei Brak.
The girl, who suffered shrapnel wounds to her limbs, was treated by paramedics and evacuated to Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan, where doctors are fighting for her life.
The attack also left the girl’s father injured in moderate condition, while six other children were injured in the attack.
“We received a report of an impact and arrived at the scene with intensive care units, ambulances, and rapid-response motorcycles,” Magen David Adom paramedic Yissachar Weiss said.
“We saw destruction and people walking around conscious, as well as an 11-year-old girl who was semi-conscious and suffering from shrapnel injuries to her limbs.”
“We provided her with medical treatment and evacuated her in an MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious condition. Additional MDA teams simultaneously provided medical treatment to several other wounded people and also evacuated them to hospitals.”
In other missile strikes in central Israel, a 13-year-old boy and a 36-year-old woman were moderately wounded.
In Rishon Lezion, a six-year-old boy was moderately injured when he was hit by a car while rushing to a bomb shelter.
A warhead landed in the central Israeli city of Holon, sparking a fire in an open area, while fragments of an interceptor missile were reported landing in Petah Tikva.
