An Arab village declared it will name a street after terrorist Omar Abu Leilah, Arutz7 reported on Sunday. Leilah killed IDF soldier Gal Qeidan, 19, and Rabbi Ahiad Ettinger, 47, in a terror attack last week.

The village, Bruqin, is located near Ariel, the opening scene of the attack, which took place at two junctions.

Leilah killed First Sergeant Gal Qeidan, a combat soldier in the 334th Battalion in the Artillery Corps, and Rabbi Ahiad Ettinger, a rabbi and father of 12, on Sunday.

A third victim, IDF Soldier Alexander Dubrovsky, is improving after undergoing surgery and is expected to survive.

Leilah was killed in a shootout with Israeli forces last Tuesday, March 19.

The Palestinian Authority has a history of naming streets and squares after terrorists. The PA also has a Martyrs Fund to pay a monthly stipend to the families of terrorists killed or jailed for carrying out attacks against Israelis.

The scheme, described as “pay for slay,” was in the news recently when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in February that Israel would reduce from the taxes it collected and handed over to PA an amount equaling that given by the PA to terrorists and their families.

PA President Mahmoud Abbas said in reponse, “Every penny we have – we will transfer to the families of the martyrs.”
