Sarah Jessica Parker, best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the hit television series, Sex and the City, arrived in Israel on Friday for a one-week visit together with her husband Matthew Broderick and their children.

Parker, who is also a producer and fashion designer, was spotted by Israeli paparazzi upon arrival at Ben-Gurion International Airport and later in Tel Aviv, while out for dinner with Nadav Peretz, owner of a tourism company.

Peretz organized the family’s trip, Ynet reports.

The family will visit Israel’s historical sites.

Born in Ohio to a Jewish father and non-Jewish mother, Parker identifies as culturally Jewish.

Parker’s father, Stephen, was an entrepreneur and journalist. Born in Brooklyn, his family descended from Eastern Europe. Stephen’s original surname was the Hebrew, Bar-Kahn, which means, “Son of Kohen.”

Broderick, best known for his role in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and for staring as Leo Bloom on both Broadway and in the film,  The Producers, was born in Manhattan. His mother, Patricia Biow, is Jewish. Her family descends from German and Polish Jews. Broderick’s father is not Jewish.

Biow was a playwright, actress and painter. Broderick’s father, James, was also an actor and World War II veteran.

The couple married in 1997 in a civil ceremony in a historic synagogue on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Broderick’s sister, Janet Broderick Kraft officiated the ceremony, though she is an Episcopal priest.

The couple have a son, James, born in 2002, and twin daughters, born in 2009 through a surrogate.
