“Congrats Mr. President, your legacy is starving and bombing children,” read a sign at the demonstration.

Anti-Israel protesters picketed outside of a star-studded fundraising event for President Joe Biden in Los Angeles on Saturday, waving Palestinian flags and holding signs accusing the lawmaker of being complicit in genocide.
Biden’s fundraising event at the Peacock Theater in downtown L.A. raised a record-setting $28 million, according to a statement from the Democratic party.
Former president Barack Obama and Hollywood A-listers George Clooney and Julia Roberts were among those who participated in the fundraiser, as talk show host Jimmy Kimmel interviewed Biden.
Outside of the venue, some 100 anti-Israel protesters yelled “Biden Biden you’re a liar, we demand a ceasefire.”
Pictures circulating on social media from the demonstration depicted protesters holding a large banner reading “Stop funding genocide.”
Another person held a sign with text that read “Congrats Mr. President, your legacy is starving and bombing children.”
A demonstrator whose face was obscured by a keffiyeh shouted chants into a megaphone which were repeated by the crowd, including “From the sea to the river, Palestine will live forever.”
Dozens of police in riot gear formed a human chain in order to prevent the demonstrators from coming in close proximity to the event venue.
A handful of protesters wearing “Not in our name” shirts physically clashed with security guards, who had attempted to move the group away from the theater.
Actor George Clooney’s participation in the fundraiser is notable. His wife, Amal, recently announced that she claimed to have found evidence that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant may be guilty of “war crimes,” paving the way for the issuance of potential ICC warrants for their arrest.
“I’m not exaggerating when I say that this election is the fight of our lives,” read a recent text message sent in Clooney’s name to Democratic party voters.
“It’s a choice between those who want to pull America back to the past, and those who want to move America into the future.”
