Israeli officials were anticipating the publication of the Trump peace plan after the Knesset election.

A day after the Knesset election, U.S. national security adviser John Bolton has told ABC that ” I think Trump’s peace plan will be published in the very near future.”
Trump administration officials have said that they expect the plan for Israelis and Palestinians to be made public right after Israel’s parliamentary election, with indications that it could happen even before the new government is formed, a process that could take several weeks.
U.S. officials say they have briefed regional leaders, though the Palestinian Authority says it has been boycotting diplomatic contacts with Washington to protest President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Reports have emerged over details of the plan, which have said that it includes Israeli compromises on Jerusalem, though overall is more favorable from the vantage point of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu than previous American proposals from earlier administrations.
Regional countries would receive U.S. aid, in exchange for cooperating with the implementation of the plan, according to reports.
Publication of the proposal became an issue in the Israeli election, with some politicians demanding that the details become public before Israeli voters went to the polls.
The hints that the plan could be published before a new Israeli government is established centered around a reported hope in Washington that publication in the midst of the government-forming process would result in Mr. Netanyahu choosing government coalition partners who would accept the plan.
Mr. Trump said on Wednesday that Mr. Netanyahu’s victory in Tuesday’s election is a good sign for peace.
