Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing of a young soldier found outside a mall in southern Israel.

A young IDF soldier was stabbed at a bus stop outside a mall in the southern Israeli city of Arad Thursday evening, Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical service, said.
The victim was found unconscious and with stab wounds to his upper body. Attempts at resuscitation failed.
He was later identified as Ron Yitzhak Kukia of Tel Aviv
“When we arrived, we saw a young man, roughly 20 years old, who was lying on the ground unconscious and with no vital signs, and with stab wounds across his upper torso,” said an MDA paramedic.
“We provided life-saving medical care and performed advanced resuscitation techniques, but we were ultimately forced to declare him dead at the scene.”
The assailant fled the scene.
