After an 82-year-old died of wounds sustained during a terror attack on a June 1 hostage rally in Boulder, Colorado, the suspect is facing enhanced charges.

The woman who was identified as Karen Diamond died tragically as a result of the severe injuries that she suffered in the attack.

On June 1, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old illegal immigrant from Egypt, threw Molotov cocktails into a crowd of people demonstrating for the release of hostages in Gaza.

Soliman, who has pleaded not guilty, is facing updated charges after the death of Diamond, including two counts of first-degree murder as well as 66 additional charges after more victims were identified.

The Boulder County District Attorney’s office has identified 14 additional victims for a total of 29 victims, 13 of whom suffered physical injury.

The updated complaint includes the following charges: two counts of first-degree murder, 52 counts of attempted first-degree murder, eight counts of first-degree assault, 18 counts of attempted first-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault, two counts related to the use of an incendiary device, 16 counts of attempted use of an explosive device, and one count of animal cruelty.

“The horrific attack has now claimed the life of an innocent person who her family and friends loved,” Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty said in a statement. “Our hearts are with the Diamond family during this incredibly difficult time.”

According to an FBI affidavit,”He stated that he wanted to kill all Zionist people and wished they were all dead,” adding that Soliman vowed to do it again.

The affidavit also mentioned,”Throughout the interview, Soliman stated that he hated the Zionist group … and needed to stop them from ‘taking over the land,’ which he explained to be Palestine.”

The father of five said he planned the attack a year ago but delayed it until after his daughter’s graduation.

He drove a hundred miles from his home in Colorado Springs and, on the way, picked up gas, which he used in the attack.

At the site, authorities found fourteen undeployed makeshift Molotov cocktails comprised of glass wine carafe bottles or Ball jars containing clear liquid and red rags hanging out of the bottles.”
