Carlos Santana rocks Tel Aviv despite BDS pressure

In yet another win for Israel and another loss for the anti-Israel boycott movement, legendary guitarist Carlos Santana played in Tel Aviv and expressed his support for Israel.

Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana gave an excellent concert on Saturday night in Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park, conveying a message of peace and support for Israel.

Over 25,000 people enjoyed Santana’s unique tunes, while his 11-member band, which includes his drummer wife Cindy Blackman, played all his greatest hits throughout the show that lasted over two hours.

Santana, 69, had come under pressure by the anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Divest and Sanction) movement to cancel the show in Israel, but he rebuffed the pressure, saying he was “excited to bring a musical message of peace, love and an end to conflict.”

He conveyed messages for world peace throughout the concert, and expressed his support for Israel when he said it was “an honor to be in your light and your love, with so much beauty and grace.”

He urged Israelis to “Pray for peace on Earth. No more brutality. No more violence. No more cruelty. Only peace on earth. For you, for me, for your family, for everyone.”

The band played their version of Hava Nagila, a well-known Israeli song, during the encore.

Santana was one of several front-line performers who performed in Israel this summer, despite attacks by the BDS.

The BDS movement promotes financial, academic and cultural boycotts against Israel, ostensibly as a nonviolent struggle against the so-called “Israeli occupation.”

Critics say its activities are a modern form of anti-Semitism, and its true objective is to destroy the State of Israel. BDS.
