Children saved: Jewish school, orphanage hit in Odesa strike

A Russian attack tore through Jewish life in Odesa, devastating a school and orphanage where children were rushed to safety seconds before impact.

“We barely closed the door before the explosion,” Rabbi Avraham Wolff said, describing how caregivers shielded the children as the blast shook the entire area.

The “Mishpacha Ukraine” Jewish orphanage, run by the local Chabad rabbi in Odesa, shelters 124 children, many of whom were inside as the strike hit nearby.

The school was left unusable, and orphans along with elderly Holocaust survivors, some over 90, remain at risk as Jewish institutions continue to come under repeated attacks.
