Chinese-made cameras in Israel seen as growing national security threat

A new Israeli security analysis warns that thousands of Chinese-made surveillance cameras installed across Israel could become a dangerous intelligence weapon for Iran and Hezbollah.

According to the report by the Institute for National Security Studies, Iranian and Hezbollah operatives have intensified efforts to hack Israeli camera networks since the outbreak of war, using live surveillance feeds to gather intelligence, identify missile strike locations, and monitor sensitive sites.

Experts warn that modern AI-powered camera systems could effectively become the “eyes and ears” of enemy actors, especially amid the growing alliance between China and the Iran regime. The report also noted that Israel previously hacked Iran’s own surveillance infrastructure to track senior officials before the targeted killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei earlier this year.

The findings are fueling growing fears that Chinese technology embedded inside Israeli infrastructure could pose a serious national security threat during wartime, with hostile actors potentially exploiting the systems for espionage, surveillance, and terror operations.
