A complaint submitted to the police on acts of vandalism has led to the exposure of an Arab terror plot, Israel’s police announced Tuesday.

Police were recently notified that several buildings under construction in Jerusalem’s Pisgat Zeev neighborhood were heavily damaged, including harm to the electrical system. The damage is estimated at tens of thousands of shekels.

The police launched an investigation into the vandalism, and subsequently arrested a suspect, a 32-year-old Arab from the neighborhood of Shua’fat.

Security forces who conducted the arrest found he had Hamas flags in his home.

The suspect initially denied the charges, but then admitted he had been planning attacks against Israelis as revenge over the incarceration of his two brothers in Israeli prisons for acts of terrorism.

Police believe that beyond the damage the suspect caused, he also planned to attack Israeli security personnel.

In related news, IDF forces carried out counter-terrorism operations throughout the region and arrested 13 Palestinian suspects.
