Pro-Iranian Lebanese outlet reports that Israel and Lebanon have agreed on a temporary truce, set to go into effect on Wednesday night.

An Iranian official claimed on Wednesday that Israel and Lebanon have reached an agreement temporarily halting the fighting between the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist organization and Israel.
The Hezbollah-aligned Al Mayadeen network in Lebanon published a report citing the official, who said that the truce is set to go into effect Wednesday night.
The ceasefire is slated to last for one week, the official said, following pressure from the Iranian regime on the United States to force Israel to end its campaign against the Shi’ite organization.
The timing of the ceasefire in Lebanon is linked to the ongoing ceasefire between the US, Israel, and Iran, with the two-week truce also slated to end next Wednesday.
There has been no official confirmation from the United States, Israel, Iran or Lebanon regarding the claim.
A senior Israeli official who spoke on condition of anonymity denied the report.
“No decision whatsoever has been reached regarding a ceasefire,” the official said, according to Channel 12‘s Amit Segal.
Separately, Israeli media outlets reported Wednesday afternoon that the United States and Iran have agreed to resume peace talks in Pakistan, with a second round of negotiations set to be held in the near future.
According to Segal, Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is set to arrive in Tehran soon to deliver a message from the Trump administration and to work out the details of the second round of talks in Islamabad.
Last Wednesday, the United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, on condition that Iran end its closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
While the agreement extended to Israel, the US and Israel denied that it also applied to Israel’s campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Amid conflicting reports of a possible ceasefire, Israel’s security cabinet convened Wednesday evening to discuss the situation.
Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is pressing ahead with its campaign, declaring that forces are “about to defeat Bint Jbeil” and emphasizing that any outcome would be shaped by “peace through strength.”
For now, the IDF is expected to continue operations in southern Lebanon.
