‘Death, fire, fury’ – Trump responds to Iranian threats to close critical shipping route

Iran pushes back on Trump’s claims that the Islamic Republic is near defeat and the end of the war is in sight, threatens to close the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran threatened on Monday to impose a closure on the Strait of Hormuz, the strategically important waterway used for shipping roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement in response to President Donald Trump’s claims that the conflict with Iran is “pretty much” complete, suggesting that Operation Epic Fury could be wrapped up in the near future.

“It is we who will determine the end of the war,” the IRGC said, warning that not even “one liter of oil” will be allowed through the Strait of Hormuz.

“The equations and future status of the region are now in the hands of our armed forces; American forces will not end the war.”

Hours later, President Trump responded to Iran’s threat to close the Strait of Hormuz, vowing that if the Islamic Republic follows through, the United States will strike Iran with “twenty times” the intensity of the attacks thus far, warning that the regime would face “death, fire, and fury.”

“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account Monday night.

“Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again — Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them — But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen! This is a gift from the United States of America to China, and all of those Nations that heavily use the Hormuz Strait. Hopefully, it is a gesture that will be greatly appreciated.”
