Noting the “terrible trauma” of the family whose home was hit overnight in Beersheba, Lt. Cl. Jonathan Conricus, head of the IDF’s International Media Branch, expressed relief that they are “safe in body.”
Palestinian terrorists fired a rocket towards the southern city of Beersheba close to 4 AM Wednesday morning, directly hitting and demolishing a home. Four people – a mother and three children – were inside.
At the sound of the red-alert siren, the woman grabbed her sleeping children and ran to the safe room. Most houses in Israel have a fortified room for such incidents.
“The beautiful thing about Israel” is that not only the authorities, but the community as well will “do their job” in helping them cope, Conricus said in an interview with The Israel Project.
Hamas’s “relentless attacks” on the communities situated near the Gaza border over the past seven months demonstrates the “strength, resolve and unity” of Israelis, he concluded.
