‘Disgusting’ Mamdani exploits Oct. 7 victims for campaign

The Mamdani campaign is under fire for using the murder of a Nova Festival concertgoer to court Jewish voters.

A text message sent by Zohran Mamdani’s campaign claimed that a victim of the October 7th massacres would have voted for the anti-Israel politician.

Last week, a Jewish New Yorker told the New York Post that he received a text message urging him to vote for Mamdani.

The voter, who did not want to be identified by name, replied to the message that the far-left candidate was unlikely to get many votes from Jews.

Mamdani has called Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “war criminal” and refused to condemn calls to “globalize the intifada.”

To the voter’s surprise, he received a response from an organizer working for the Mamdani campaign, who claimed to be an Orthodox Jew.

“I want to go a bit off script for a second because I’m Jewish, wear a kippah every day, and I support Zohran,” read the text, which was viewed by the Post.

“My friend Idan was murdered on October 7 at the Re’im music festival. The war is personal to me, as it is to many in our community,” the message continued.

“Idan believed in peace, just like Zohran does.”

The Jewish man who received the response told the Post that he felt “disgusted and “stunned” by the Mamdani campaign exploiting an October 7th victim to appeal to Jewish voters.

“It’s trying to normalize that other Jews are voting for him, that he’s for the Jewish people — even though everything he says is the opposite of that,” said the voter, who is a registered Democrat.

Another Jewish voter told the Post that he also replied to a Mamdani outreach text, saying he would not vote for him because of his anti-Israel stance.

That voter received identical talking points, with a response also claiming to come from an observant Jew working on behalf of Mamdani.

“It’s unthinkable that New York City, with one of the largest Jewish communities anywhere outside of Israel, would be led by an antisemite like Zohran Mamdani,” Liora Rez, founder and executive director of StopAntisemitism, said in response to the Post report.

Mamdani’s campaign declined to provide a comment about the text messages.
