The Israel Defense Forces disclosed on Sunday that it has identified approximately 165 Hezbollah rocket launches that landed inside or near UN peacekeeping positions in southern Lebanon since February 28.

“The Hezbollah terrorist organization systematically violates international law and continues to operate while endangering international forces and harming UN personnel operating in the area,” the IDF said.

In the most recent attack, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said three peacekeepers were injured — two critically — in an explosion at their base in the southern Lebanese village of El Adeisse on Friday.

“UNIFIL reminds all actors of their obligations to ensure the safety and security of peacekeepers, including by avoiding combat activities nearby that could put them in danger,” UNIFIL said.

On March 30, one UNIFIL soldier was killed in an explosion at a peacekeeping position in the southern Lebanese village of Adchit Al Qusayr, and two others were killed in a separate blast involving their vehicle in Bani Hayyan.

The peacekeepers have not determined the source of the fire.
