Eight new settlement sites are being established in the Hebron Hills following a deadly terrorist attack over the weekend that killed IDF soldiers Staff Sgt. Ron Yonatan Roitman and Sgt. Yuval Shai Soylam.
The initiative is being advanced by adjunct minister in the defense ministry Bezalel Smotrich and Har Hebron Regional Council head Eliram Azulai, in coordination with the IDF and security forces.
Six agricultural farms have already been established, while two communities, Magad near Negohot and Nofei Gulot near Atniel, are planned.
The farms are named Mitzpe Tzur, Noy Farm, Lev Amit Farm, Eshbal Farm, Lema’an Achai and Mitzpe Or.
Smotrich described the initiative as strengthening Jewish settlement alongside measures against illegal construction.
Recent enforcement actions included demolitions of unauthorized Arab structures near the attack site.
Smotrich warned that a future government could halt settlement expansion and enable a Palestinian terrorist state.
