Explosive night in Gulf as US and Iran trade strikes

The United States struck an Iranian military command center and intercepted multiple Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain, marking a major escalation in the rapidly expanding Gulf confrontation.

According to CENTCOM, US forces carried out a “self-defense strike” on Iran’s Qeshm Island after shooting down attack drones threatening vessels in regional waters. Iran retaliated by launching missiles and drones toward Kuwait and Bahrain, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it targeted the US Fifth Fleet headquarters, an American airbase, military helicopters, and a commercial vessel near the Strait of Hormuz.

The confrontation comes as Washington intensifies its blockade of Iranian ports and shipping routes. The IRGC warned that disrupting traffic through the Strait of Hormuz would carry a “heavy price” for the US military, raising fears that the conflict is entering a dangerous new phase with direct attacks spreading across the Gulf.
